I wonder if that overpressure issue that caused them to delay the launch had anything to do with that. Did they load less fuel because of it?

Also, it looked like the landing fins/legs never deployed.

Several observers say they saw the legs deploy, the feed I watched, I didn't see the legs.

Saying "they ran out of fuel" isn't accurate...... they ran out of pressure in the tanks. Without the pressure, the engines would starve for fuel.

Must have been loss of Methyl pressure because the LOX was still flowing and burning anything it came in contact with. Still burning but no appreciable thrust developed.

Great learning experience. Need to figure out why Header tank had low pressure.

One of the trickier things and an expected troublesome spot was getting fuel from the header tanks. That the engines re-lit after the Crazy Elon was in itself quite an accomplishment.

Maybe worth commenting that the LOX header tank was the one that experienced over pressure during an earlier test and popped it's relief valve. Maybe that had something to do with it.

Scott Manley is the most intelligent of the SpaceX youtubers. He's actually a real life Engineer. He does the best analysis videos.

You've heard of fuel-rich and oxygen-rich burns? Speculation is that the green flame was the engine eating itself. What they humorously call an "engine-rich" burn.

SN 9 has been sitting in the hanger all ready to be rolled out. Except the stand it was on collapsed.

SN9 was suppose to roll out to the launch pad on Monday. Now we have to wait and see how much damage it has. Hopefully they can replace the damaged flap. Otherwise it's on to SN10 which is sitting next to it in the hanger but I don't think has the nose section installed yet.

Nothing that Duct Tape can't fix!
And as a last resort.....

But actually they needed to take a proactive approach and had a more safe and secure support system. This might have worked: Bamboo scaffolding.

Musk will tolerate mistakes. That's part of his rapid development plan. But I'm thinking somebody gets fired for that.

Here's an interesting view. Gives you some perspective. Also, how just weird does this look? A 15 story building falling sideways then flipping vertical.

Best view, for perspective, I’ve seen yet. Just so unnatural looking.

Falcon 9 does it a bit differently. Not as much of a belly flop. I wonder why. Higher altitude at BECO? Different aerodynamics.

Threat. What say you.

F9 boosters don't return from orbit or more importantly orbital speed. Re-entry heating goes up with the cube of speed so twice as fast, 8 times as hot. So the F9 boosters can return engines first. Starship doesn't have that luxury as it's coming in much faster. It needs a heat shield and the larger area the better so they came up with the unique idea of using half the vehicle and covering it with tiles.
For these initial tests they don't need the heat shield but we will prolly see after the next vehicle.
