I know some were upset about us kind of letting up and just getting out of there with a win. But I think it may have been strategic. Every time I see that pic of Emory I'm more and more convinced that we were probably 15-20 minutes away from our heir apparent QB having a kid out of state.
I don't understand coasting for the first half, and always letting our foot off the gas in with a small lead.

If we eviscerated their little gonads in the first half, we could SIT our starters in the late third quarter. Remember that? It's been so long.

If Emory were on the field, he'd pull less tang and father less kids. It has been a long year for all young kids who haven't been allowed out to chase their dreams.

My whole post was in jest. I don’t think EJ has any children. I just love his face in that pic.

And yes, I’d much rather we beat a team’s brains in and then play backups. I do think in this case it was going to be unlikely because they weren’t going to let Bailey turn it over. With Guarantano in, I think we score more and pull away quicker, even if it meant we gave up a few TDs early. But yes, I hate seeing starters out there so late. Countless ways that could come back to haunt us.

Lsu should give us that opportunity but not counting on it. I won’t remove all blame from the staff, but I’lm not sure this team has that mentality. We didn’t crush anyone not named Ohio St until Meyer’s third season. Mullen was still there so I don’t think it was him. But what cost us games that year was a ton of youth, guys that hadn’t been part of the previous regime. They made mistakes due to that youth but had much more of a killer mindset(no AH pun). That drastic roster turnover was a blessing.

Think back to the guys that played with “fire” in those first two seasons. It was mostly RFN, then Tebow, James and Harvin. All never played under Zook. I see something similar here. McElwain found a couple of gems, but mostly seemed to land guys who didn’t really care. Current staff shares the blame, but I think a lot of it is still the roster.

Jest? WTF??? This is serious sheeeet here!!!!

Come on, man. Of course the freshman would turnover.

What I really don't get about Grantham is running blitzes... with SOFT SOFT SOFT coverage. Why not play tight, understanding that your blitz is going to get there and you don't want to give the QB an easy short route and most QBs can't hit a deep pass anyway.

I too have wondered it and have a theory that Dooley and Andreu were about to discover it and that’s the reel reason they were forced out at the Sun. Crucial is apparently part of the deep state and was brought in to continue to keep the truth buried. Personally, I hope Ox doesn’t ban me for turning this thread political.

"We all know how much they hate us, that will never change. I’m not much into conspiracy theories, but it’s all starting to make sense. Make it look like things are looking up, get an extension and a big buyout, and then everything comes crashing down to the lowest level we’ve ever seen right after. Nobody can possibly be that dumb when it comes to, especially, the qb situation for starters. Maybe I’m thinking way too much into it."

To be fair, this idea was tossed around a bit while we had chump and mac. I wouldn't put it past saban. That said, I don't actually believe it.

My one question would be, when did it look like "things are looking up?"

We have enough conspiracy theorists around here to get to the bottom of that.

But it was true with Muschamp at UF.
it was de facto true.

Reply on that thread: "No need for Bama to do anything to screw us. We screw us just fine"
