I was talking about players that are too dumb to get to college.

no one signed more non-qualifiers than Mullinz. I'm perfectly okay with thugs especially if they're middle linebackers or defensive tackles.

Wasting slots on nonquals? not so much.
"Okay with thugs..." ?? Of course you are.

@ltraz

thoughts on OL Austin Barber? Goldkamp says UF hasn’t offered, but is talking to him. As a backup.

Isn't he on the verge of decommitting

From what I’ve heard he’s got work to do in the classroom to get eligible. Pretty safe to assume at this point if they are committed and don’t sign early they are an academic risk for UF

Barber is a more solid take than Strickland imo and a teammate of Marcus Burke...it can never hurt taking Jax kids esp since he’s better than Strickland

Agree on Barber and Jax kids - we need to start getting who we want out of Jax.

I saw that Strickland was scheduled to sign next week.

What? They stopped work??? Why?
Money is always the bottom line. I work for UF and the amount of money lost due to Covid (and not just athletics) is mammoth! (Hundreds of Millions) They have started preliminary stuff (some ground and underground stuff) but now are on hold with the word being July/ August 2021 picking back up on the building.

Wow. That's disturbing. I thought the money was in place for the entire project. Thanks for posting, btw.

It's the UAA's call. I think most of the money was in place but I have a feeling that part of it was coming from this year's Football revenue.

Considering how low interest rates are, the UAA needs to grow a pair and get a loan.

Covid is no excuse. The UAA shouldn't be living pay check to pay check.
And they haven't. Ever. They have a history of being in the black. I respect their fiscally responsible approach, mostly, but they lean too far to the fooley conservative side. They need to finish what they started and understand it's an investment that will ultimately increase their revenue to stay solvent.

Khakis and T-shirts with woke phrases on them aren’t cheap. Neither is that new bike path for gay Asian llamas.

But honestly if we’re truly this set back by Covid, any loan would probably be at a high rate, and we’d have to use the stadium as securitization. Like we’ve seen with football this season, the virus and its wake showed who was in solid footing and who wasn’t. If we can’t afford to build something with the money we take in, it’s not about 2020 at all.

The guy from State Farm?
He had quite the transformation, that guy.

Went from being a dorky white guy in a cubicle whispering to dudes on the phone in the middle of the night to a hip young black dude who hangs out in barber shops with NFL players.

One of the sorriest excuses of affirmative action I’ve seen in awhile

I haven't seen any of Barber. Clearly Hev doesn't like him at all to not even give the kid an offer. He does however like Strickland. I don't get it. Most on this board don't get it. Hev really likes him and sees genuine potential. The one plus is the dude is downright nasty. On one play, Strickland blocked the same guy, driving him 30 yards downfield like the clip from the movie The Blindside. It was hilarious. He tosses guys around like he is in the WWE. He is fun to watch.
