Just saw this: Four-star DE Bryce Langston out of Ocala is going to sign with LSU today, according to multiple reports. Langston wanted to play for Florida, but the Gators were not ready to take him early due to his grades and potentially taking a scholarship spot yet not being able to enroll. He's a talented player at a position of need and No. 144 overall. This was a tough decision for UF but definitely one the staff made and not the prospect.
Sort of makes it clear why we have difficultly recruiting with most the conference-we have standards.

we’ve been killed on attrition by taking kids that can’t make grades. If the staff doesn’t think he has the grades, it’s the right move.

I agree 100%. Not just from the football program's POV but for the good of the young man, too.

In addition to that, Langston hasn't looked great this year and seems to be overrated (on 247, at least). Since we secured Sapp, he's not a need (as long as we get Boone, who I like better). Boone is ranked slightly below Langston, but they're similar players and Boone is 3 inches taller and could grow into a solid SDE at 280+.
