I don't have a dog in the fight, so I don't really care one way or the other about the city or its football team. Its apparently your city and team and you support them. I understand and respect that.
If I rank NFL cities, only two rank lower on my personal list than Jax and those have an asterisk. At the bottom for me would be Las Vegas. Having so many outlets for sports wagering nearby and given that the NFL is not populated by the brightest bulbs in the package, it is only a matter of time before some player genius gets caught up in some kind of point shaving scandal. Players manipulating results for betting purposes goes straight to the heart of the integrity of the game. So for me, Vegas would be a no go for a sports team based on legal sports wagering. The brothels aren't such a good idea around these guys, either, IMO. To me, Vegas and pro athletes are a dangerous combo and disqualify the city completely. Now maybe these guys today make so much money that they wouldn't be tempted to do shady things, but I doubt it. Why tempt fate?
The other city lower on the list is Green Bay. But they are a relic from like the 1920s, have a trophy case full of championships, a huge stable of legendary players, the most iconic coach in the league's history, a cathedral for a stadium and are crazy-well supported. As maybe the Notre Dame of the NFL, they are one of the small handful of franchises that make up true NFL royalty. But if you were looking to establish an expansion franchise in the mid-'90s, absent all that history, GB would not be on any list.
All of Jax's shortcomings could be erased by consistent playoff runs and a Lombardi trophy or two - but again, they've been right there among the league's laughingstocks.
So recent history suggests you guys will "Jag up" the first pick in the upcoming draft, or that Lawrence will have to learn to live on a steady diet of bangers and mash washed down with a room temp. ale.
