For someone who spent years with Urbs, I just don't get his lack of recruiting prowess.

Sorry but this is complete crap. In what way did either of these situations allow us an unfair advantage?

Mullen must have had a bake sale. You know how the NCAA cracks down on those.

Meanwhile in Clemson land, a new recruit’s father has his “pressure washing” business bought by a Clemson booster for 500k and then takes that money and buys a brand new house with a Clemson orange front door. The Clemson basketball coach gets caught on an FBI wire tap saying they need to pay their recruits the way their football team does.
NCAA is more concerned with a meeting running 15 minutes over the limit? Mullen has got to be fuming.

Not sure what neck of the woods you are from or how you were brought up, but where I come from and the likes of Bama and Clemson show up and just say: "Move over and let the Big Dog eat".

I think we all know by now that restricting Mullen's recruiting can only be good for us.

Fair or unfair, consistent or not, this is a black eye for Mullen and the program. This is also a clear cut case of two strikes and you're out. DM better watch his step, and his big mouth, or he'll find himself out of a job before you can say Charley Pell, Galen Hall or Jim McElwain. The CDM regime has absolutely taken some self-inflicted hits in the last several weeks, and could be headed off a cliff if he doesn't wise up soon.

Perhaps more embarrassing for Mullen, restricting his recruiting was wholly irrelevant. Before defections, all 3 of his last classes are nearly identically ranked/non-exemplary.

We're back, baby! You're not a serious contender unless you cheat.
