Can't imagine his stock would get higher unless next season was just record breaking lol.

I doubt he comes back, and I'm not sure Swonkey could handle another season being so completely wrong

I think he's projected as a early second round pick, doubt he comes back. Really grateful for the player he's been but he should go get paid.

This season was record breaking. He has nothing to prove and his top 3 receivers will be gone. He needs to declare. I can't imagine that he would match the production from this year.

All of these points regarding his draft status are true, but this is a guy that has chosen to stick with football for 9 years while not starting 7.3 of them. That is a lot of work for something that never really came until 15 months ago.

He really must play due to true “love” of the game. I could see him really struggling to walk away from a period in his life he has always dreamed of and that may never get better.

Two big factors though are (i) his family’s situation financially and health wise and (Ii) how injury prone does he personally view himself. He’s had a few seasons with injuries while not even playing in games, played hurt part of last year, and had that awkward knee tweak on a run this year.

If he does come back, he should get Dan to sign an agreement regarding 2 max read options and QB powers per game.

Shut up, dwarf.

I can see why he would want to. he has not played since middle school and there's no guarantees in the NFL. maybe he just wants to enjoy it one more year.

If he asked me I would tell to opt out of the bowl and start getting ready for the combine. He has been a perfect Gator, had an epic season and deserves nothing but respect. Slight chance he goes in the 1st round, if not early 2nd. Go get your money son!

The current climate for bowls is bullshyt. Nobody cares unless it is a playoff. He has nothing to gain.

Who are the up and comers at QB for the 2022 Draft? We don't always know this far out, but we've all known Lawrence and Fields would be in this one for awhile and they're still projected as the top two QBs. More often than not, one of the first few teams to pick is there because they need a QB, and another good year for Trask combined with a weaker QB class overall next year could very well send him up the board in 2022 relative to his 2021 projection.

On the other hand, he'd be risking injury, losing a year of earnings (even at a lower rate), etc by staying. I can see why it's a tough choice.

As a Gator fan, I hope he stays, but he's definitely earned his payday at the next level.

The problem is that there are six QBs slated to go in the first round. This is considered one of the deepest QB drafts ever.

And out of the six that are slated to go in the first round, Trask is ranked 6th.

He might be a mid first round pick next year.

I don’t know what the contract value is between a first and second round pick. But if it is big enough, he may elect to come back another year.

Trask is not your typical me first type of person. He sat back and patiently waited for his chance for a long, long time, and then excelled. It makes the most sense to go now and be drafted, but he may not care. He could come back, play another year, and then get drafted. He should go, but I could see him coming back just because he wants to rep UF and excel. If Grantham gets bounced (please god) , having Trask with a better D would be amazing. Bowmen coming in as well. This would certainly cause EJ to bolt, but I would rather have another year of prolific passing with Trask.

WOW

So the playoffs destroyed the bowl system?

Who knew?

The top four playoff system hasn’t just crushed the bowl system. It’s also thrown recruiting completely out of whack. It was the perfect storm for Alabama. They invested more money than any program and became a mainstay in the playoffs. Recruits want to compete for championships and they have lined up to go there.

They need to expand the playoffs to 8-10 teams to rebalance recruiting. And use the bowl games as part of that.
