You obviously weren't there; I was. We weren't gathered there to honor the team, I assure you. The verbal filth that was hurled at those players as they got off that plane was the stuff of legend. Several people spit. Others threw physical objects. I flung an AA battery that laid open the forehead of Reidel Anthony; I was actually aiming for Spurrier and Reidel was in front of him. Fortunately for both of them, I had missed with a D battery the previous throw that put a nice dent in the side of the plane. I'll bet that dent is still there today.

The cops tried to find those that threw things, but we were able to blend into the crowd and get away (I also had one of the cops that was there tell me later he secretly supported it). It was an incident the university wanted to cover up and did so successfully. However, it's time for the truth to come out. Also, it was that kind of "tough love" that put the team over the top the following year; Spurrier has pointed to that incident as. That kind of thing is necessary and is unfortunately happening less and less.

I gave this a WTF because I can't believe Ox wrote it. There's a level of comedic artistry way above his abilities. For now I assume he was hacked.

But you can celebrate only being a loser by a little if you want.

Bama’s defense full of 4 and 5 star players gave up 46 points to the Gators, who were held to 34 points the week before by a 3-6 LSU team. Saban should be fired for having a defensive coordinator who could allow such a thing to happen </sarcasm off>

I completely agree that Grantham should be fired, as his incompetence cost this team a playoff spot at a minimum. But to believe that we should burn it all down and start over by firing Mullen is crazy, especially since there are no known better options.

Also crazy is not being proud of a bunch of guys representing your school who played hard but came up short, especially given that they were outmanned and outcoached (defense).

It is not only acceptable to be proud of your team for giving their all, and not giving up, towards the goal of winning the SECCG, while still pushing for better play and more success in the future, it is the right thing to do.

Sorry, I don’t believe much of this story. Except the part about a superficial imperfection on our plane likely still not having been addressed some 25 years later. I could definitely see that.

I appreciate it was an opportunity lost by an 8-4 coach and staff. Not surprisingly his best year at Cowbell w a generational QB was 3 losses too. He is what his resume says he is.

This was the weakest SeC east in history, the weakest Ugly has been in a while, and a total rebuild Bammer w the worst defense theyve had since 2006.

But this year, and the next three were lost on National Signing Day. Those of us with sense knew that already.

But you can celebrate only being a loser by a little if you want.
You are probably right, but there's an interesting post on volnation.com. Talks about how they traded coaches who could develop for coaches who could recruit and they got no development, worse recruits, and maybe sanctions. Might be wrong, but something to think about.

All we have heard for the past 3 years is the UAA is cheap/does not care about football, our facilities are outdated, much harder school to get into academically, we don't pay enough or have enough QC assistants, etc. All of which is true, especially when compared to Bama.

Yet for some reason when we go up against Bama for the SEC championship, we are expected to overcome all these deficits in addition to a horrible coaching staff who can't recruit, can't game plan, and can't manage the time clock correctly?

Love the logic! Yet for some reason nobody can name the next Saban/Meyer/Spurrier.

:rolleyes4:

Well, if you’re going to frame it that way, no.

Moral victories be damned. Any of zooks teams would have had this record with this schedule. Same with most of muschamps teams and mccelwains.

Zook's teams might have had a better record. Remember, he beat a National Champion LSU. I'll get into the Muschamp/Mac in the post-season.

The coaching section could have been much longer

No lie, I thought I was running out of room as there is actually a word/character limit (I've hit it before and had to edit)

***************************
And we can simultaneously recognize a great game by part of the team and recognize changes need to be made. We can also recognize that certain patterns are beyond a single game or even a single season. A 3/4 loss team with a trip to ATL is no different than 2015. I mean we can say, "at least we lose in more exciting ways"...I guess that means a lot. Personally, Champ had a 1-loss regular season team in 2012 and we all remember the excitement of that season.

Including, but not limited to:
  1. Beating LaLa on a punt block
  2. Beating LSU by putting in 7-10 O-lineman and running to win 14-6
  3. Losing to UGA because Reed thought he was Superman at the end
  4. Beating Mizzou with a pick in the endzone to end the game 14-7
  5. Destroying Bowling Green 27-14
  6. And who could forget the excitement of being on the verge of losing to FSU only for Morrison change to the game on the first play of the 4th quarter as we ran away with it only to watch USC fail to beat ND later that night.

Please tell me what positions have developed.

At UF? Wide Receiver and QB. That might be the exhaustive list unfortunately. You can’t tell me that just by looking at Toney’s game (among others, but notably him this year, Swain and Cleveland last year) that there isn’t development happening at the position. Yes, I thought Trask should have started before he did, but this year he took another step up and that shows development. As far as RB/OL, I couldn’t tell you.

This might possibly be your best work ever. In fact, I tend to agree with the poster questioning whether or not you were hacked.

This is clearly Pasty’s work.

You jackasses act like I haven't written anything creative in all these years. That's quite hurtful.
