Playing dodgeball. Should’ve said “We’re fortunate to have such a talented passing game that can outscore most opponents because our secondary is soft as cotton and couldn’t cover a w hore with a bed spread.” I’m glad he’s satisfied with his concept of moral victory (i.e. six points from the SEC Championship) because coming up short is still losing. Too bad Trask and co. didn’t get to go against our D this season. The numbers would have been astronomical.

I swear to you, the numbers in practice were probably astronomical, but everyone just attributed it to our passing game.

Wasnt Leavitt untouchable for some reason after you got fired from South Florida? I remember at one point in his name was being bad around and apparently the administration said no

allegedly grabbled a player by the throat and then bitch slapped him. Also, he allegedly interfered with the school's investigation

USF fires coach Leavitt for smacking player

I’m trying to imagine the thought process of watching what had to be a daily schit show during pass skell and then saying something like “I think we’ll be ok on Saturday.” Truthfully, Greenard and Zuniga along with Henderson were probably responsible for the hoax to be carried into this year. Infrequent pressure and many failed blitzes later, Grantham and English have been totally exposed. Mullen will either confirm what many of us are thinking or shock the hell out of us with what becomes of the defensive staff. If he keeps the same makeup and scheme, I’m not real confident that our O without Trask, Toney, and Pitts can score enough quick enough to stay in front of the competition.

He ws ALWAYS third and Grantham even when he had much better than Butters' Leftovers talent at Ugaly.

I still just don't get the scheme. what is your take on bringing pressure on every play yet playing man off or cover three or four every play? that seems like the worst possible combination. any more on can hit a quick slant as long as he reads the blitz and since we blitz on every play it's impossible to be fooled.

what am I missing?

They’re the best coached defensive group IMO. And he’s a solid recruiter.

I’m just saying, if you keep anybody, it’s probably him. From a continuity perspective.

but I’d be ok firing the entire defensive staff.

I'm in the same boat. Turner seems to be okay and Frozone used to be elite. I'd be happy keeping either and would be okay with them being replaced.

I'd also be ecstatic with the Grantham being fired many days ago and one of Turner or Frozone being Acting DC.

We know that Fatass is it going to change, what could it hurt to take a short test drive of one of the more promising position coaches. we're paying Fatass anyway.
