Maybe compared to Grantham's, muschamps defense was solid. But in reality they were overrated. The numbers were inflated because most teams would sit on the football after they scored 20. When teams wanted score they usually did.
Truth.

they both make me want to throat punch you.

It’s more entertaining, but equally frustrating. Going into every single game from 2011-2015 with a nervous feeling that literally nothing could go wrong or we were screwed wasn’t fun, particularly for my children and liver. But I will say many here said they just wanted to score points because they were so starving. Now we have points and no defense and it’s the opposite. The fact is we shouldn’t have to completely choose one or the other. But as I said then, losing 52-45 will be just as frustrating as losing 20-14. Incomplete football is incomplete football.

Mullen's free-fall over the last several weeks has been epic. I'm seriously thinking he's got a screw loose somewhere. In this short time he's gone from a respected winning HBC to a carnival barker that spews lies and irrelevant nonsense trying to hide the fact that he's GAF'd off his job against LSU setting up a shocking loss, his lack of leadership in team preparation resulting in the Cotton Bowl disaster and now his refusal to flush the Grantham problem. Today was the day to eliminate the glaring problem that every single Gator fan knows has to go and he doesn't have the balls to fire Todd Grantham. Another great opportunity to win back the fan base - missed. Mullen has lost the team and now the fanbase. He's got the emotional maturity of a 12-year old; this job is just way too big for his level of thinking. Good X-O guy but not a CEO. He'll never win squat here so start the search now.

Cutting Grantham was Mullen's last chance.

This makes no sense.

First thing, Its the Grantham System that is the major issue

Then lack of preparedness and discipline

Followed by deplorable recruiting

Like UGA with Grantham, we'll be in the hunt for SEC East and 9-3, 10-2 Seasons...We'll NEVER be more than Top 10 at best.

And Mullen is delusional, clueless, or just Narsasistic...the BIDEN of College Coaching.

Both needed to go. That OL regressed all season, and even though the team is very talented, they were soft as f*ck.

So, what this proves is not only Ogre a better Head Coach than Mullen, so is Clay Helton... wow

I'm telling you, he's trying to force his way out, and this is the beginning. I'm really starting to believe he'll be gone during or after next season, because he wants to be gone.

You say that like it's a bad thing. This staff desperately needs elite recruiters.
T-Robb will be here 1 year max (if he's hired). Our recruiting for this year is over.

By next December (early signing day), he'll be Muschamp's DC, once chump gets hired as a MAC coach or ACC coach. Any ground we gain in recruiting will be lost.

I hope we move on. There is nothing to be gained by hiring him.

I started thinking this same thing yesterday. I think Mullen is tired of coaching. His big drop occurred about the same time Muschamp pulled off yet another heist, adding to his wealth by getting fired from USCe.

I think Mullen sees a rapid decline and firing as being less work and more profitable than a slow, laborious ascension in the general direction of success.
