This is especially true if the gags give Urban Liar total control. Belichick is the only coach to be successful with total control. The only one.

Don’t worry. You won’t know what hit you when all those smurfs show up in the preseason.

It's astounding to me that Jags fans, with their organization in complete shambles, actually have the audacity to turn their nose up to Urban Meyer. It's beyond belief, really.

He’s proven himself to be an outstanding ceo. That is essentially what an nfl head coach is. I worry about the baggage he might bring. I do think the risk isn’t as high as if they hired a top coordinator. Meyer has been successful everywhere he has coached. I just don’t like the guy.

By the way, I can't imagine giving a guy with no NFL experience total control. I seriously doubt that happens.
I actually think Urban would make a great GM. Probably better there than trying to instill his offense at the NFL level. I’d still be 110% behind hiring him.

Why is Meyer so hated? I never quite understood that. Have you all been around for the past decade? The program was definitely broken. But in any walk of life I never blame anyone for moving on. No matter the reason. He won 2 titles here. I appreciate those times. Yeah I wish he would’ve stayed or left the program in better shape, but he didn’t. That’sa strange reason to hate someone in my opinion.

I’m curious to see how Urban’s system plays out in the NFL. The biggest point of curiosity is how he deals with NFL players. From what I’ve observed, players and coaches in the NFL are on an equal plane. I don’t think that hierarchy of coach-to-player in college is the same in the NFL, and I think Urban’s success was punking out players in college to overachieve.

Here’s my thing, yes, in many ways the program was left broken, but if we hire a guy focused on a version of the spread offense and someone more CEO than Muschamp, it probably isn’t near where it went. Hell, Muschamp even was able to get a one loss regular season in 2012 with his bs

Jags fan here...

I’ll take Meyer in a heartbeat (not a play on words). He’s a proven winner who will instill that winning culture. Only concern for me would be sustainability since his stops at UF and OSU all ended abruptly.

Regardless, he’d still be a better hire than 95% of the guys Khan and co will give consideration to

He's also the coach that left Gainesville saying the program was broken.

Urban was an expert at convincing high school kids to come play for him. Once they became bigger than the program he lost control. "The Circle" took over. The NFL is full of guys bigger than the program. Urban can't handle the personalities in the NFL.
Urban would be a homerun hire for an NFL franchise. If he is seriously considering the Jags job they would be crazy not to make it happen. This isn't the woke NBA where the players run the franchise. A prick like Meyer would do just fine in the NFL.

I don't think you'll find many coaches that like working with Mullen.
Not too many players or fans as well. I'm betting his wife can't stand his sorry a$$ either although the 6 million a year probably helps a little.

Ask a Cowboy fan if they would take Meyer after that total freaking fiasco against the Giants yesterday.

Knowing a few people who worked with Urban, no. The burnout and the losses take a huge toll on him and he would burn out. Jones isn't going to hire a coach that steals the spot light from him anyway. When Jones dies the franchise will start to move forward again.
