@BrentASJax: It's obvious and no surprise, that the extensive talk about Urban Meyer is coming from Meyer's camp. It doesn't mean the Jags are not interested and Shad says he has a relationship with Urban from Big 10, but no conversations about the HC job - yet. What's interesting to me on the Meyer front is this is the 2nd time in a month. Urban was interested in Texas job, starting to assemble staff and nothing happened. Makes you wonder if this is similar and makes you wonder if the Jags are as interested as it has been reported.

Wow. If Urbs is ready to coach again we should fire Mullen right now and bring him back.

The college game is a complete mess with NCAA in your a$$, free for all transfers, social media and now the name and likeness thing. Plus the limited CFP ruined the bowls.....Its over. If anyone can grab the cash and get out they should. Mullins is gone if he gets an offer, period end of discussion.

Oh boy, the fur is goin' to be a flyin' now. Don't you realize that Urban Meyer staged one of the most elaborate hoaxes in history in order to get that OSU job?

Careful and detailed planning was required as well as masterful puppeting of his family, a large crew of doctors and medical staff at Shands, and even the memorabilia hawk that ended up bringing about the demise of Jim Tressel. But, by golly, when Urban sets his mind to it, he GETS IT DONE!

Perhaps a bit unnecessary, though, as all he had to do was tender his resignation and move on, but, then how could we have propagated our most endeared conspiracy theories if he'd done only that?

part of what fueled the conspiracy is that he had a verbal agreement within a week or two of Tressel being let go that Spring. During the summer, he was putting together his admin staff. I know the above because I was friends with someone he recruited to go up there, who ultimately did.

don’t think that’s why he left, but him being available made the Tressel decision even easier for OSU

Prisco was on CBS Sports this morning. He said Meyer and the Jags have talked about the HC job. While he is a douche, his reporting is rarely wrong. If Urbs wants the job, I think he gets it. The issue will be the GM and how much power will Urbs have in that building.

Sounds like Urb wants the job.

I think he fails big time in the NFL.
I don't think he'll fail necessarily, but he won't dominate like he did in college. He'll just be an average coach. Although at some point being an average coach will come to be viewed as a failure so in that sense you're right.

By now even a Tebow :nutswinger: like me can admit his playing days are for sure over, but I wonder if Meyer setting up shop in Timmy's hometown might possibly give him an opportunity to explore getting into the coaching game.

He really shouldn’t coach. He has more important callings in life. But I could see him in some sort of executive position.

Tebow is only 33. He could still suit up and play football if he wanted to. God knows he's in good enough shape to do it.

Well maybe he can apprentice under Urban in Jax then later head up the road to Lynchburg to coach at evangelical Liberty University. That'd kill two birds with one stone. Although, thou shalt not kill.
