We need big bodies and he has one... Hopefully he can play well in our scheme.

This is from the article:

"He's best suited for holding ups blockers and things like that. Sometimes a penetrator as a pass rusher but not his forte. He is a solid presence in the middle and vocal guy."

Seems like a perfect fit for our recently retained DC with the mindset of rush the passer at all costs.

Maybe I should look at this positively, as well as our choice this year to play Campbell and Slaton a LOT more than the prior two years, that Mullen is forcing a scheme shift onto Grantham. Great job if so, as the results this year were awesome. If your DT's can't get sacks every play because they are holding their line, well, send corners from 25 yards away. I bet the other team will never see that coming.

@neteng NO I am not content at all with 8-4. Our recruiting has to be top 3 to get us into the top 3 again like Meyer did. Mullen is good enough for top 10 but that is his ceiling. We need a new coach this year so we can get back to being on top. The entire UF athletic department needs to be overhauled from top to bottom with Football as the top #1 priority. From the looks of it, Mullen, White and possibly Sully will all be gone within the next year or 2.

Where's Sully going?

Campbell and Slaton played "a lot more than the prior two years" because there was nobody else behind them - due to irresponsible recruiting, which is why we're going after transfer DT's. We signed Langham & Humphries in 18 & 19, Langham transferred and Humphries is essentially a bust (and rumored to be transferring). Nothing's changed. We still have the poorest depth I've seen at DT since Spurrier's last few years.

If you're going to do that finish the job, FIRE Fushing Fuch.

Hey, 5th in the SEC so we're making progress. A year or two ago, we were something like 8th in the conference. Gotta give Mullen some serious credit for this.

UF SEC recruiting Ranks (according to Rivals):
2011 - 5th
2012 - 2nd
2013 - 2nd
2014 - 5th
2015 - 10th
2016 - 6th
2017 - 4th
2018 - 6th
2019 - 5th
2020 - 5th
2021 - TBD (currently 5th)

new boss not that much different than the old boss.

@BMF he doesn't win enough so he has to go no matter all the top recruiting classes, CWS appearances, and NC. Its not enough, he should have at least 2 or 3 NCs by now.

Agreed. And quite frankly, not only is Sully to blame for being a choke artist in the baseball postseason but he shares blame for our football woes. He's such smooth talker that he convinced Foley & Stricklan to pony up 10's of millions of $'s for a new baseball complex and an exorbitant contract for himself, which is money that could have & should have been allocated to the football program. The selfish prick raided the cash register and hogged everything for himself and his non-revenue generating program.

Well I was off by a few years on my recollection but we were 10th in the conference in 2015 and now we're 5th. That's huge improvement!

There’s a logjam at the top. After beating UGA I hoped we might gain more interest from the elite recruits. The LSU game hurt, the Bama game maybe helped a bit, but the OU game was a debacle.

Need to be purposeful in any hires that we upgrade the recruiting, and that needs to be a big part of the evaluation of current staff top to bottom.

A friend who has been coaching high school in the area for the last 10-15 years told me Grantham isn’t a favorite. He comes across as arrogant, condescending and “...uses mf every other word. One of those guys.”

All this shows is how we have had a decade of futility.
