Just wanted to vent about the change related to the political forum. I won't be coming here as much as in the past and of course anybody not liking the political forum can not go there or just as I do ignore those with annoying posts. Just a way to express my thoughts, remove if management is offended.

The vast majority of people have no self control or ability to walk away from the computer screen. It’s getting hostile in there.

But you easily participate.... just pay up.

Only $20 - ox invests a lot of time, effort, and money to provide this place, in addition to a gut-wrenchingly expensive meth habit, and dropping a few coins on the plate wouldn't hurt you, would it? Making it private keeps ne'er-do-wells from infiltrating/lurking and doxing members.

Meth habit? I thought Ox was just extremely busy staring in gay porn videos... No? I mean, that's what I heard... :dunno:

It's not about that anymore Chief. There are an increasing number of people that are posting borderline (if not over) criminal things. Even Ox restricting access to paid numbers only minimizes potential fallout from that in this environment, it certainly doesn't provide any real protection.

There are several "adults" here that might end up wishing they had moderated themselves because we are now in an environment where someone, not Ox, is going to "moderate" them externally.

Thanks for the input, I had not seen such but my budget does not allow paying for any internet things. Thanks again.

I don't disagree with this take--but can't think of a single poster from the PF posting borderline criminal things (or things that could get the site in trouble) who would be affected by the change.

That's because you are thinking "legal" vs. "administrative." Ask Parler how that worded out for them.

I think the observation holds true no matter which angle you approach it from. If we're wanting to use the Parler example, then ox's best course of action from a legal or administrative viewpoint is probably just to shut down the PF entirely (as he's mentioned he's considering).

I knew that was the reason behind it. And I don't mind the 20.00, I just don't do paypal. Got scammed once and shut it down. The timing of all this with Parlor was no coincidence. But I'm getting a little exhausted with running from the enemy. There is plenty of stuff being said on Twitter that's not being moderated....as long as the right people are targeted.

You don't have to use PayPal. When you donate, it takes you to a Paypal site but you can simply chose to use a Debit or Credit card and never have to "Log In" to Paypal.

You could also send Ox a check.

In my experience, people find a way to do what they really want to do.

Every viable budget has a little wiggle room.

**** This is a serious offer...... If anyone here can convince me that they can't afford to join, I will help them!

Of course, any communication will be private.
