I'm going to go out on a (short) limb and guess that Ash has been contacted by Mullen and Urban and he's just waiting to see what Urban decides. I'd think if Urban takes the Jags job he will go there. If he backs out, Ash could come here.

Also a pause, why get hired by a dude that is open about accepting an NFL job, just for the potential he may leave and then you are searching again. Why go to a questionable situation until you know more answers.

that’s what 247 seems to think. The Jags situation needs to shake out first.

Ash has the upper hand here; he's got UF in limbo while he weighs his options w/ the NFL/Urban's new staff. If he wants to be an NFL coach, he's probably guaranteed 3+ years if he takes the Urban offer. If he comes here he can do a 1 year gig as "co-DC" and move on, or move into the DC role after Fat Todd wears out his welcome. I'm sure Mullen is bs'ing him telling him he plans to be here "a long time", as I'm sure he doesn't want to end up in a situation like he was just in at Texas (1 year and his head coach gets fired).

I've been a supporter and follower for years on this and previous site. I appreciate passion in our Gator fans. However, I'm getting very frustrated at all the negativity displayed on the Board. A new visitor would think UF could do nothing right. Yeah, we have our moments to bit**. But to do it continually over and over again just amplifies negativity.

90% of the programs out there can only envy UF's success in the major and all-sports success.

Don't care about "all-sports". Only care about football.
The frustrating thing is that we could win championships if the AD gave a damn.

The current AD is an MSU grad and former AD there. He doesn't understand the importance of football. It's not in his genes.

English, Gray and CRob gone?

McGriff hired.

No news on the other two open assistant coaches?

I'm not gonna be happy until Grantham gets canned like he deserves. I'm talking about a public shaming

Him getting out from under Grantham makes me wonder if he knows about more changes to come.

This. He has been a Grantham disciple. It doesn't make sense that he would just randomly up and leave. Much less that he would up and leave to the sinking ship that is Harbaugh and Michigan. Yes, I know there was that extension, but if he has another season like this season, that staff is fired. There has to be more to this story than a change of scenery for CRob.

But we did hire a coach. Its just an odd offseason all around. No contract extension (yet). No statement from the UA to Dan Mullen having NFL interest (did I miss something?). Fire a couple coaches for recruiting violations. A coaching staff that looked like they quit before the bowl game. But we hired a coach.

Robinson leaving is a win for UF. He's a mediocre coach who got his first on-field job at UF - that should NEVER happen, unless maybe he was an analyst on the staff for several years. He's a FAU, FIU, G5 type of coach who hit the jackpot at UF. He left UF with one ILB on the roster.

I'm just disappointed Ash ain't coming. He would have been a real voice in the defensive coaches room, now there's going to be a room full of 'yes men' and Fat Todd will keep running his sh*tty defense.
