This is one of the most satisfying wins I’ve seen in a while. The effort is unbelievable.

Major props to White having his boys ready to play. Let’s do it again Saturday, okay?

I said recently Mike is NOT the guy to get this team where it can be or should be. However, he earns props tonight for motivating a team missing it's top players to come out and dominate a t10 team start to finish. This is but a spark, a glimpse of what he could do as a coach, of what the players could do as a team. This says the ceiling is a lot higher than demonstrated to this point. I still believe MW can't do this consistently and needs to go, but I'm happy for him to show he has it at least once in awhile. I'm more happy for the players to show they can do it, no excuses going forward.

Probably White's best job getting the team to go full out for almost the entire game.

Agreed. I can't recall another game where he got the team to perform this well. Ever.

Seems to me that some previous games have seen the Gator offense run through Castleton. Is it a worry that the whole team played so well together when Castleton was out?

No. It ran through Castelton because he wanted it - he hustled and got rebounds, created AND finished his shots, ergo it ran thru him. However, there was no team structure or strategy to run thru him...it was his effort. Now, to see the team perform without him, just means he doesn't have to carry the whole load every game if his team mates show up again like they did in this one. It is not an either-or proposition, it is an AND....the rest of the team can play like this AND he can still be a workhorse.

We Owned and Destroyed Tenn just like in football.

Been awhile since we had a jboss 'Owned and Destroyed' on anything. Good to see it come back.

This game was notable for so how in their heads we were. Tennessee actually got to the line a decent amount--and missed about half their shots once there. FTs are about focus...and Tennessee was just gobsmacked by the constant, unrelenting effort and intensity by every one of our players last night.

Not that we have any room to talk about other coaches with what we have in Mike White, but it looks like Rick Barnes is nothing more than a 1 season wonder at Tennessee.

I just watched the highlights, we were out to dinner so I didn't get to see the game live. Total domination and destruction by the Gators tonight. We Owned and Destroyed Tenn just like in football. We really came to play tonight and we had relentless effort on both ends of the court. Loved hearing Dickie V crying about us destroying a top 10 team. The refs were really trying to get Tenn back into the game with 25 FT attempts but they only made 12 of them. We only attempted 11 which is total bs with all the plays we were going inside against them. We outscored Tenn 42-22 in the paint and outrebounded Tenn 44-36. Wow so we are missing our top 3 players and we respond like this against a top 10 team?! Clearly MW outcoached and simply outclassed Rick Barnes on this night. I could see MW coaching more and moving around and yelling more and coaching and teaching up his players so that was good to see. To hold a top 10 team that is favored by 8 points to ONLY 49 points is simply something special and big credit goes to our players for really stepping up and playing hard and very tough against a top team. MW still has to go but dang he really kicked the haters in the balls tonight including myself. Very improbable win but one that we can savor for a few days. Go Gators!!
Some of those foul calls against UF was pure BS, especially the charge against Duruji in the 1st half.

The wrap on Barnes is that he can put really good teams together but he can’t leverage them into meaningful results.

At Texas he had very talented teams with NBA lottery picks but he never made it past the elite eight. He seems to be performing in a similar way at Tennessee.

I’ve always liked Rick Barnes but I understood why Texas fired him

Castleton & Jitiboh were fiery cheerleaders from the "endzone" behind the basket.
All the playing Gators played to "conquer" the opponent for every loose ball. That was intimidating to those UT dominators. We dominated the dominators. We kept the ball in play and we played the ball constantly. Dogged determination not seen in a Mike White team. Hopefully, this becomes our team-personality -- it in no way is the coach's personality. They probably will need lots of "players only" meetings? This I know: the players & gator fans need to see more of this "worth-watching" basketball. Go Gators, go again.

I didn't get a chance to watch, so I checked the score late at night and was stunned and did this.

After the game, MW said they had KJ do the scouting for this game and was instrumental in helping prep the team. If KJ can't play again perhaps coaching is in his future. What a masterful performance. I love it. While I am not a MW fan, I love to see this team not fold up and fall over when faced with adversity.

The effort last night was inspiring. The passing, speed and defense were things we have only seen sparks of in the past. We also shot nearly 50% from the field and very decent from 3 pt. I like the play of our starters who were absent but the team play last night was greatly improved. We stared slow but got going quickly and stayed in the face of the vols. A W is a W but this shows that we can play the game!

I hate to discuss fouls-- seems petty after such a big win-- but one piques my curiosity. I looked away and only saw it on replay, but it looked to me like a clean shot block by a UF player, hand squarely on the ball. The force of the block with the UT player still holding it sent him hard to the floor, but I didn't see the hand come off the ball nor did I see the UF player get him with the body. Did I just miss it? What happened?

Fouls calls were messy for sure. That block and a two charges where the vols were not even close to being set or defending a position. Calls were awful, but sometimes you need to beat the refs also.

I can always zip my pecker up in my pants if I want to be miserable. No way I'm watching these UToothless take us to the woodshed. No thanks.
Yep that was a woodshed moment .... wonder how the Vols feel about the woodsheding

I have told you, you need to feel differently. I have said that you are happy to portray yourself to be a better fan than others. White SUCKS! He needs to be canned. These random wins, and fans slopping it up, just prolongs the inevitable. Fuchs, I feel like I’m in the Chumps and Butters Era.
You are a complete joke. A troll from another planet. Nobody likes your BS. Grow up asswhipe
