One of the first jobs I had was selling Cokes at Gator games. I would sell them for 25c and earn a nickel. Sell all 1st half then ditch the tray and jump the wall to stand on the sidelines (you could do that back then) Saw Spurrier's kick close-up what a day! The players all looked like monsters to a little kid :)

You pre-date some given the $.25 price.
I sold Cokes in the late 60’s when the price was $.50 and I made a dime on each one.

Just like you, I would sell my last rack by the end of half time and then I would find a seat in the north end zone somewhere and watch the second half.

I really didn’t care how much money I made, the best part was getting to watch some of the game

we sold sucker bait outside. Made 20% on all our sales. We sold pennants all kinds of hats souveniers etc. Even Pro pennants. Had an employee ticket so when the game started I would go in and sit in the old south endzone. Our stand was set up on that triangle at the sw corner of the stadium by the light. Made some good money some games,.

1966 Florida 22 FSU 19 at Doak Campbell Stadium Tallahassee, Florida

I enjoyed watching the entire film, but move the cursor to about the 25:35 mark to see the Lane Fenner catch or non-catch according to your perspective. Official Doug Mosley was lucky to get out of Doak Campbell alive. Had to be. The video and sound quality are good for a vintage game film of that long ago albeit a little FSU Seminole propaganda there at the endow the film.I hope that there Is someone out there in Gator Land that likes looking at these old films.

This is one of the most memorable games ever in Gator history. I was not there but I was listening to Otis Boggs do the play by play on the radio. On Saturday Gator fans listened to Otis Boggs on the Gator radio network; on Sunday they ate dinner and watched the Ray Graves Show on television with Gator Ray going over all of the highlights with Jacksonville sportscaster Dick Stratton.

With just seconds left in the game FSU quarterback Gary Pajcic rolled out and heaved a 45 yard bomb towards the end zone which was hauled in by Lane Fenner. The catch was called out of bounds by the ref. Of course there was no instant replays in those days. Sports sections of Florida newspapers carried pictures of the Lane Fenner catch with large type headlines. FSU tried a field goal to try to tie the game but "it was wide to the right". FSU has been wide to the right or wide to the left in a lot of big games it seems. Ball game.

This was only the 9th game in the Florida - FSU series history with Florida leading the seriess 7 -1 -1 after that game. At the time this controversial play was described as "they'll be talking about this one for a long time to come" and it was, but I think it has been largely forgotten about now. The series might have been lopsided in Florida's favor up until that time, but this game really turned the heat up in the budding rivalry. Coach Graves and Coach Bill Peterson of FSU used to call it the Civil War but it was anything but civil.

Lane Fenner was something of a loner and non-conformist sort of a free bird for a football player of that era. Another strange thing is that this play was the only down Fenner played in the entire game
and in fact was his first play of the season..

Another fun fact about that game: it wasn’t a catch, fsu loses.
