Seedy has had an old smaller stihl that has served us well for 20 years on our farm. His dad passed away two years ago and his mom 2 weeks ago. The 8 siblings drew numbers and took turns dividing up the estate last weekend. Seedy went for the stihl 026 16” chainsaw that didn’t work. Nobody knew what was wrong with it. After putting several hours into troubleshooting and ordering in a carburetor kit he got it running. I picked up a case, oil, chain and a tool today. We put $115 into it but worth it. Just in time for this tree to fall yesterday in the ice storm.

Where are you guys? We're getting an ice storm tomorrow night here in the DC area.

I took the Stihl back to Ace and they tech fixed it while I waited, took about 20 minutes.

Lexington, KY - we had about .5” ice and without power for 15 hours. Much better than expected though! Hope you guys stay safe. Ice sucks.

Recommending from my experience: Stihl

First post!! And I gave you your first 'like'!

Yes, I did get the Stihl - if you read through the thread. Go back one page and you'll see what happened to the handle two weeks ago.

I’m sorry.

I'll actually be in Shelbyville, then the last night in Louisville. I love that area - mostly because of the bourbon. I'll probably have no less than 12 Old Fashioned's while I'm there!!

Shelbyville has an outlet mall, Claudia Sanders Dinner House and horse farms. Which one are you going there for?

I'm visiting some friends that moved there years ago. I usually stay there when I go to the UK game - which I'll hopefully be at this fall (Oct 1st, I think).

Enjoy your visit. Did you go to the last game here? That was a nail biter but an excellent night!

Edit: we are supposed to get a lot of snow this next week.

Yes, I was there two years ago (well, 18 or so months ago).

I'm flying in from Dulles - hopefully the snow won't be a problem....

I got rid of all my large trees (pine) about 4 yrs ago. Luckily just before a hurricane. I recently picked up a Ryobi 18v 12" chain saw. Great for small stuff in the back yard. I seem to be starting a collection of One+ 18v and 40v Ryobi.

Pine tree was rotten in the middle base. Seedy had the chainsaw working beautifully for a few hours and now it’s not running. (No @Nalt I didn’t break it) Let’s just say he’s not happy.

After an hour or two of running flawlessly, it started to lose power and now it won't start. Replaced spark plug, cleaned carb (not that there was anything in there), replaced fuel hose and filter, replaced impulse hose...and nothing. $20 bench fee totally worth it, so off to Stihl dealer it goes. CDGator kind enough to venture out to drop it off.

Thanks Alex.
@Seedy is a man of few words which is why I have to get my words out on a message board I guess. There are a few topics in here that he could post a considerable amount on though and hope he does. He only joined the previous board we all posted on to fix the things I broke, or at least that's the joke. :bwahaha:
