7:30 pm SEC Network! While its highly unlikely that LSU will pass UF in the standings due to previous scoring, this meet is for the SEC championship, no other SEC teams are going to beat these two. It will be a tough test for the Gators in Baton Rouge as LSU tends to get a lot of home cooking in their scoring. I would not be surprised to see a couple of 10's thrown out tonight. UF will have to win the first two rotations (bars and vault) to have a good shot at winning as LSU will end the meet on the floor and they have already had a 10 at home on the floor. Two gymnasts for LSU to keep an eye on are Kiya Johnson and Haleigh Bryant the super freshman. Johnson only competed one or two events last week but is a powerful gymnast on vault and floor (their 10). Bryant is an amazing freshman that has been throwing 9.9+ in all her events. UF is also coming off the bye week so will they be rested? will they be rusty? It is another unknown about the crowd. Typically this meet would 20K in attendance and a rocking atmosphere, which in turn influences judges. If UF is focused, sticks their landings, I feel good about the win if not, I see LSU pulling this one out. The last time UF went to LSU was the first time they beat them on their home floor in something like 8 years so a very tough test. If there is only one meet that you are going to watch this year other than nationals, I would recommend this one!

Great summary. And you were right about the home cooking. Even the announcers said they were surprised that some Florida scores weren’t higher than they were given.

How does the LSU girl get a 9.425 when she fell on her a$$ on the floor exercise and the UF girl gets a 9.3 when she lost her balance and had to jump off the beam. It’s a hell of a lot harder to stay on the beam than it is to stay on you feet on the floor.

Wow! Florida pulls it out with LSU having a fall on the floor on their last routine. Crazy home scoring but I guess the right team won in the end. Amazing night for trinity thomas with a 39.9 all around out of a 40. 5th highest in college history. Hell of a meet

It’s also worth mentioning that Trinity Thomas scored a perfect 10.0 on floor. For the away team to get a 10 at LSU is huge. One judge face her a 10 on vault, and one judge gave her a 10 on bars, but the other judge on each gave her a 9.50, so she scored a 9.75 on both vault and bars. It could easily have been a meet with 3 perfect 10’s for Trinity. She only scored a 9.50 on beam, though.

She was amazing Friday night.

That sport is the most ridiculous of all for how the scoring goes. When AI is capable, that the first place it needs to be using in sports. The bias is thick.

Well......I am a bit disappointed that they seem to have changed camera angles on the uneven bars.;)

While I like football way more than gymnastics (probably because I would break my neck if I tried any of that stuff the girls do), I so wish our football team had these girls enthusiasm for beating the hell of their opponent and being the absolute best at what they do. These ladies are a great representative of UF and pretty damn hot as well.

I thought they scored her low on the beam.

My 9 year old daughter was complaining about the scoring the whole meet. Dad, why did the LSU girl get a 9.9 on beam when she clearly bobbled a few times! I told her because it's at LSU.
