Spurrier’s contract paid him $1.75m annually at the time the home was built in 2010. He was pulling down $4m by 2014. He’s making nowhere near that sum now and he’s got a Gainesville restaurant to fund. I’m sure at his age he finds it hard to justify the carry costs on a home that large and that expensive.

Yeah, if I look at that from the standpoint of a person whose having trouble getting around, it seems like a lot of stairs outside, and I'm sure lots of stairs inside given that there are 3 floors.

I looked at the pictures and the interior has an elevator.

Not disagreeing with your analysis regarding annual income, age, health, etc. Nor am I aware of the financial arrangements with"his" restaurant. But is it clear or factual that it is "his" restaurant or as I posited in an earlier post, perhaps he is lending his name and belongings, (perhaps with an investment) for a fee and/or a small piece to professional restaurateurs?

I sure hope the aerial photo of the only FL/GA game (which I took) played at Fla Field is hanging in his hallway. We won 52-14...:jog:

That's awesome.

Hambrick turned into a knucklehead, but to this day, that was one of the most incredible individual plays I've ever seen. I still have no idea how that happened whenever I rewatch it.

Also, the first of many losses for Will Muschamp in the Swamp that night.

Dang,$71k for the lot and then resold for $400k the next year, then listed at $6million 25 years later. I think it's and investment that paid off for the ole ball coach.

The Ole Ball Coach is selling his beach house for a cool $5.8 million:

The electrician who wired this house told me they installed a 2000A main service. My house has 200A.
I wonder what the monthly electrical bill is for this home?

Why? Does it have 3 kitchens? Does the HBD do arc-welding projects for a hobby? Maybe each bay in the garage has a hydraulic lift for classic car restoration work? Perhaps he toys around with his homemade particle accelerator?

Its a big house, but lighting and entertainment systems are a small percentage of power consumption. The kitchen appliances, HVAC and clothes dryer (if electric) are what typically draw the most amps. Without a walk through, I would guess 400-500A would be plenty unless there's a bunch of specialty, big-load items.

Really cool that it includes access to the intercoastal waterway. Surprised he didn't build a dock w/ boathouse on that side. I would if I had that kind of money...
I didn't know Spurrier bummed all his meals until reading it in this thread. I'm sure when he had the urge to go out to the ledge he just bummed a lift the same way.

Always loved Crescent Beach. Back in the long gone 70's we had a Frat Pack of SFL guys who brought our boards to HogTown and surfed the beaches from Crescent down to Ormond. Nothing like riding 3-4 foot rollers while singing the theme from " Ride the Wild Surf".
We had frat beach clambakes on Crescent with kegs, weed, and whatever. At that time you could spend the night with no hassles. Some of the old homes were abandoned and ready to be torn down. My dream was to have a house on Crescent, but of course no money to make it happen.
Maybe the HBC would give me a courtesy Gator deal for his garage and apartment. :lmao:
