NCAA Tourney Projected Seed

NCAA has come out and essentially said that teams won't be penalized for not playing a full season--win the games you do play and they'll take it from there.

With Florida having missed so many games already, that's good news that the league doesn't expect us to make up tons of games on short rest. Also helping us is that fact that a lot of our missed games came against some of the better teams in the league (Tennessee away and LSU away). We have @Arkansas tomorrow, UGAy this weekend, @Auburn, @Kentucky, and home vs #10 Mizzou.

Currently, projected as a #7 seed (which seems to be our ceiling with Mike White as a coach); but if we win out (possible), that could go to potentially a #5 seed IMO. We do have some good wins (Tennessee, LSU, West Virginia), but a few inexplicable losses too. 4-1 gets us into the tournament as a #7 seed; 5-0 probably sees us jump to a #5 or #6 seed; and 3-2 sees us drop to a #9 or #10 seed--and very likely on the bubble to miss out.

I predict Mike White will announce multiple players with COVID prior to the Mizzou game, just like that other Mike who coaches FSU football, NorveLLLLLL.

4-1 would be a damn fine finish and likely earn us a bye as a top four SEC seed. I would expect 2 losses though in our last five and frankly
none of them are gimmes. Since we have already played LSU and Tenn it would make sense that if we need to make up one of the games
it will likely be A&M.

I've seen Bama projected as a 2-seed with the possibility of stealing a 1-seed. IMO, Bama will probably one of the first "upsets" that we always see in the NCAA tourney.

I'll say we go 3-2 to end the season (guess I'm hopeful the guys are rested and come back on fire like Michigan did after a 3 week lay off). That's a killer schedule though.

5-0 ain't happening, but if it did we would be in second place and one of the hottest teams in the league. I think that would get us a helluva lot better seed than a 6, probably more like a 4 depending on how we did in the SECT.

For a team that beat West Virginia on the road and walloped a good Tennessee team...the only team in "that" caliber on there is Mizzou--whom we get last and at home.

We should be beating UGAy, Auburn, and even Kentucky this year, home or away (no, losing to UK earlier this season was not acceptable).

Really, the game tonight is the make or break one--win it on the road vs a ranked and decent Arkansas team (never an easy place to play, but one where the Gators always do well for some reason) and it sets the tone for how we do down the stretch. The team needs to arrive with swag and get a win before we start thinking about getting hot.

I don't think we'll go 5-0 either, but it's not an impossible task.

Play with intensity like we did in west "By God" va country and we might get 4 of the last 5. BUT, it starts with the hogs! If they do one thing better tonight, it has gotta be handle the ball. Behind the back passes are cool when they work, dribbling through the feet of two defenders is also impresive and long passes directly to defenders are few of the ways to make the highlight films on TV, but a winning mentality is discipline and purpose.

I hope Castleton has learned to feed the ball out when he's double- or triple-teamed and our guards only drive in open layup areas. But, getting stuffed by those 3 or 4 giants at the rim is another way to make the highlight film.

Maybe the "get-after-it" part of the ball game doesn't make the highlights, but, if it is an intence "get-after-it" game from buzzer to buzzer, there will be highlights! Moreover, the fans will know what the team did and feel better win or lose (but the latter must not happen!).

I believe we have the talent to get to the Dance as a 6-seed with 4 more Ws I hope not a 5-seed because I am superstitious of the 5-12 matchups.

At any rate, Gators are making sausage tonite!

No seeding at all, I don't think we win another game the rest of the season. White GONE too thankfully.

100% from the charity stripe WOW, but, then, 37% from the field and 19% from 3-pt range with 16 turnovers and only 5 assists is not tournament worthy. Castleton had 0 assists. Ocifo, Payne and Lewis looked ready to play but only average 15 minutes each. Appleby played for 37 minutes and was 1-7 from 3-pt; unfortunately, as our top scorer for the game, he put up some seious bricks to get there and only 2 assists. I recognize that the hogs had several players play as much as Appleby; but we were the ones outworked!

The worst part of all of this is that White will NOT be gone.
The Director of Mediocrity, Scot Stricklin will put together an impressive list of excuses to include Covid and injuries (as if to suggest that no other team faced these obstacles) to justify the sixth wasted season with this coach.
I assume that Scottie hasn’t noticed what Oats, Cuonzo, and Musselman have built with their programs in less than half as many years as White has had to destroy a top ten program.

Unfortunately you are correct sir. Yes, they have a great APR but at some point you have to look at wins and the product too.

5 assists is bush league. Either lots of misses or just not passing (Mike White special...) And Appleby shouldn't be our top scorer.

I don’t know why this just occurred to me but I imagine that it’s gut wrenching for Lee Humphrey to have to sit court side and watch such a sloppy basketball team that doesn’t seem to grasp the team concept.

I am sure the money makes it tolerable but it still must eat away at him
