THey are excellent on the table. Ate lots of snook in the 60s and 70s. We fished two weeks each summer on vacation on Casey Key. They got under the lights on that bridge going over to Nokomis Beach. Keep four min, length 18 inches. bad asss fish.Nice Snook
We try to get down to Manasota Key durning the summer and hammer Stump Pass hard for Snook. Only trouble is they are out of season then so I've never tasted one.

Very nice bird. Do you plan on eating it now or waiting on Thanksgiving Day? I see lots of wild turkey around here but never hunted them.
When your boat is being repaired, try this!
The bag limit is pretty generous in Alabama. I filleted the breast and will do many things with it (fry, grill, stir fry, etc). The rest of the bird (legs, thighs, wings and back knuckles) I will vacuum seal a portion. The other portion is in the crock pot even as I type. When cooked it is deboned and pulverized in a food processor. Then we mix with boiled eggs, diced onion and sweet pepper, celery. etc. For me it its better than any chicken salad I've ever eaten. I can't wait for lunch tomorrow. BTW, check the stir fry out "What's for Dinner in the lounge.Very nice bird. Do you plan on eating it now or waiting on Thanksgiving Day? Sounds interesting. Two days last week when driving home I passed a field where I saw >20 wild turkey out in the middle. They are pretty birds...The bag limit is pretty generous in Alabama. Turkey hunting is an extremely addictive sport and I've been doing since 1974. What a chess match!
I agree with Benjamin Franklin, they should be the national bird.Sounds interesting. Two days last week when driving home I passed a field where I saw >20 wild turkey out in the middle. They are pretty birds...
Took my wife to that lake for a little canoeing, that place was packed with so many gators she had a panic attack and we had to go back in.Best screen name, Snook. Today at Newnans lake. 18 specks and two nice cats..........
When I was in school in the '70 I would go to Noonans and wade the Cypress bass fishing. One time I looked back at my stringer and there was a snake on it with one of my fish halfway down his gullet. BTW Santa Fe, Orange and Lochloosa (sp) were fine lakes too.Best screen name, Snook. Today at Newnans lake. 18 specks and two nice cats..........
It's been a good year so far but there is this one bird that has my number. Whenever I get too cocky I go after him and come home humbled but with a smile.Whacked a gobbler two weeks ago in central Ga. My buddy got one to, was a good weekend.
Yeah, little boats in there are scary with so many big gators............beautiful snook. They are all up around the mouth of the Suwannee now and im determined to get one this year...........
