If teams can slow/stop the run game, then we're screwed. But if we have success with the run, then the play action will be there, and I think EJ will be fine in that scenario. If I were an opposing DC, I'd have at least 7 in the box at all times.

Whether we have success this year running the ball or not, either way I see it as an indictment on mullen's O.

If we still can't run the ball it means on top of having an avg pass attack, sans one outlier season from a heisman caliber qb that dan would never recruit by choice, we also have a crap run attack. At that point you have to ask, " why exactly are we paying 6 million for an offense that sucks at everything?"

If we are able to finally run the ball, it just means mullen is incapable of having a functional offense even when given a quality passing qb unless he's also a power runner. Make no mistake about it, while we scored alot of points last year, the reason we lost games is bc we couldn't run the ball or play D for crap. I honestly have no idea why we are paying this dude 6 mil per.

I don’t know. I could be wrong, and correct me if I am. But I get this feeling that you’re really starting to come around on Mullen.

FIFY. Not only does Mullinz offense suck, he gave a huge FU to the fans by basically saying "STFU. You don't understand anything about football. The problem isn't the choking dwag, it's the players. Never mind that I'm the one responsible for recruiting and coaching them".

The giant middle finger to the fans was with Grantham’s initial hiring. I’ve said before, the perception of Mullen’s tenure would be wildly different if there wasn’t this wart that’s a part of the whole thing. It was his first huge gamble and it backfired. I’m glad he didn’t fire him this offseason because I think he has to own it and be judged accordingly. Literally every other assistant could be gotten wrong and be forgiven. TG was never that guy and he knew it upfront.

Yes.

It was hard to swallow him to begin with. He was one of the most hated coordinators anyway for his total inability to utilize talent.

Bringing two dwags also? It is like he doesnt know anything about the Florida Gators.

I would also think he could look at the defense at least from an offensive corrdinator's perspective and think damn that would be easy to destroy, or at least notice we are one of the worst third down teams consistently and the worst Gator defense ever, like EVER since they started keeping stats and counting the club teams of WW2, and realize something is wrong.

it seems impossible to believe that he is unaware of these things so therefore it must just be total lack of concern. Cash the check, get fired, retire.

That sad point is when he feels forced to score, he's at least capable and maybe one of the top 20 or 30 in the league. but his Notre Dame DNA puts him in ball control mode most of the game.

I am curious if Kahleil Jackson plays any QB. He is the son of Willie Jackson Jr. and played pretty good QB for Hawthorne. I don't know if they will keep him at QB or move him to receiver or DB.

Come on man, get his man's name correct. His father, his younger brother, his younger sister, and himself all represented the Orange & Blue with pride on the athletic field, in and out of the classroom with respect.

Jacksons are Gator royalty, no doubt.

He's a prime candidate to be trained at MLB
