Are you talking about all those grainey instagram videos? Please cite your sources because I have yet to see a single video of 11 on 11 that even remotely gives enough of a glimpse to even come close to say what you are saying above. It really discredits anything you say unless you are seeing something erbody else aint.

EDIT: and to be fair, Im not saying the D is out of position or in position so far in practices, Im just saying I think you are making this stuff up and pumping to pump.

Jboss?

Bosstard not withstanding, even the most pumperish "professional journalists" watching the 46 seconds of video we have been allowed to see and listening to their "sources" say it looks like big problems at most positions again.

I would personally say w still have more talent that Disco Dan Mullinz would ever use at receiver, enough RB talent to be severely underutilized, and adequate QB talent for his QB keeper offense.

defensive line looks adequate also though I have complete confidence that Fat Dwag will only allow 2 real DL on the line at a time.

basically everything else seems to be the shytshow we've come to expect over the last three disasterous hires.

Videos: highlights from Gator football's 2/24 practice - In All Kinds Of Weather

they have like daily updates - just don't want to dump just to dump like the thread usually goes

Videos: highlights from Gator football's 2/22 practice - In All Kinds Of Weather

you must have an old monitor or dial up if these practice videos are coming up grainy. Look clear as day here

Dude, there isn't a damn thing in any of those videos to make any type of educated remark about how the DBs look good and in position. Its nothing but a bunch of position drills. Geesh. Its good to see them working but at this point in the process they aren't working 11 on 11 positioning and look to be working on the individual tasks vs team tasks. Being in position has a lot to do with what all 22 people are doing on the field and everyone understanding where their role is based on situations. Running 7 on 7 is more individual tasks and not team/unit level tasks.

there is enough to let us know that we hope none of the other teams have tight ends that our defensive backs have to tackle.

Its spring time. The time of year where the backup QB becomes the next heisman finalist and news of either the offense or defense doing great in practice is pumped instead of the obvious question of 'is it because our yang to the yin sucks?' is ignored. Its all rainbows and sunshine in the spring. Meanwhile, less that 2 months ago we had the worst defense in our entire football history putting a cherry on that crappy season but now they are all magically in position because we hired a couple young up'n'comer coaches and a bunch of grainey portrait held phones captures some video of our players going against air.

Aka no names.

When I think of defense I think of USF.

And some dude Trailerbammer ALMOST hired for an assistant to the quality assistant job. Cream of the crop.

I was speaking pumper to better communicate to jboss
sorry I do not recognize that dialect.

I may have to unblock Jboss again if I'm going to mock him all year.

Let's face it, 2Bits is the same.

This is great....for Dexter. Not so great for Ethan. We need that damn OL to step up this year. I'm tired of hearing how great of a "developer" Hevesy is. It's much easier to "develop" a talented 4-star OL vs. working w/ 3-star overweight projects.

What's the dude in the crutches doing here? About to get his fat ass run over!

Checking my memory/understanding:
Watching these players make huge, exaggerated cuts reminded me that I don't think that the big cuts have been the most successful. I remember the most successful cuts that free the receiver up as being smooth and flowing -- Jerry Rice and Lynn Swann moves. What other opinions are out there?

Funny you said this because I was gonna reply to @Jbossgator8 and say this is the only thing I’ve learned from those practice videos. Boy was that some horrible tackling. Granted, most of the guys in the video won’t be on the field come fall, but that was alarming.

The only positive that I’ve taken is that the defensive line looks strong. And I don’t mean strong as in being good. I just mean physically strong. QBs throwing against air and RBs catching wheel routes against no one doesn’t really tickle my fancy.

I think the difference is the Rice, Swann and Percy types make those big cuts look smooth and flowing.

Honestly, I don't mind pumping the offense. I think they will be very effective and we have some good talent. I really don't think expecting them to be one of the best units in the SEC as actually pumping. I don't expect much has changed between last season and now (just a few months) other than the obvious loss of Pitts, Toney and Trask, but there is solid foundation in thinking Jones will do well and recognition of the talent he has at his disposal.

But pumpers want to act like the whole world has changed in a few months when it comes to the defense. Nothing has changed really. Maybe the DL is beefier but we still have no friggin linebackers and our DBs are still the same. Other than Elam, who else do we have. Wilson was our starter. Nobody replaced him all season. And Fat Head Todd is still our DC. There is no reason at all to pump here and expect anything really different next season other than slight improvement. And by slight improvement, I don't mean anything other than how can it get worse?

Hard cuts seemed to work well for Toney but I agree with you that the little ones are the prettiest and most effective if used well (percy)
