Until we start letting our RB's run the ball we're wasting our time offering the 4-stars that "everyone" is trying to get. We need to figure out who UCF and similar schools are recruiting (a mid 3-star) and go after them hard. We keep missing on RB because (a) our RB's don't get used properly (b) we're going after big fish we have no chance of landing. If we start running the ball w/ Bowman, maybe then we'll attract a top ranked RB.

Joe Milton just announced he will be transferring from Michigan. Started the season as their starting QB. He's from Orlando and it looks like we originally offered (I feel like I remember us pursuing him pretty aggressively when he was a recruit). Anybody think there will be any interest? Obviously, QB room isn't an area we are necessarily hurting, but you never know...

On a related note, Meyer called him the "next Cam Newton". That might fit Mullen....

Urban Meyer compares Michigan QB Joe Milton to Cam Newton

He was in the class w/ Emory, so not sure what happened after Butters left. He was a top target for Butters staff, but after Michigan rolled us in the opener and Butters got fired he went Michigan - can't blame him for that. Our QB room is full, especially after taking two in this class. He's a solid QB, but from I recall last year his accuracy needs a lot of work.

We ain't taking a RB. Mullen stated at the presser two days ago that Bowman was this year's RB. We have one spot open. I imagine Brown ends up at a Ga Tech, WF, or other lesser P5 program (like he was at w/ UT).

Does anyone have the ESPN plus account?

There is a story about which transfer will make the greatest impacts. I was hoping to read it (for free)

Which college football transfers will make an impact in 2021?

Milton included among 2 QBs. Bowman among 4 RBs. They are not clearly ranked, but he was third in the list. "Bowman, the No. 23-ranked recruit overall and No. 4 running back in the 2020 class, signed with Clemson but only totaled nine carries for 32 yards this past season. He's originally from Lakeland, Florida, and now has four seasons to help the Florida offense."

Gilbert is the first of two TE's listed: "Gilbert was a five-star prospect in the 2020 class, ranked No. 6 overall, and had 368 yards receiving and two touchdowns on 35 receptions for the Tigers. After the season Florida tight end Kyle Pitts had, Gilbert could see a lot of success in a Gators offense that prioritizes tight ends."

Newkirk is listed among 4 DL: "Florida had a big need along the defensive line and are filling it with Newkirk and Penn State transfer Antonio Shelton. Newkirk is a graduate transfer and will be eligible immediately for Florida. He is coming off of a season in which he recorded 28 total tackles and 1.5 sacks for Auburn."

Keir Thomas to FSU was also included.

A LB is listed from Clemson to LSU.

Jamie Robinson from SC to FSU is included among four DBs.

No other team on our schedule this year shows up, though Miami does twice (Charleton Rambo and Tyrique Stevenson).

This is realistic and should be a position we can recruit. Mullinz was an option quarterback and later a tight end so it makes sense that he seems to prioritize them.

it would be nice if we drew up some more complex routes, but the reality is a talented tight end versus a linebacker or safety should always be a mismatch.

Corndog insiders saying he left because of multiple failed drug tests, and wouldn’t take the suspension. If true then I’m glad we missed him. Although it has been an issue w/Mullen I’m not sure I buy the grades issue on this one. Who really knows...

This opens another "counter" - so we now have two counters to take transfers.
