Ending 13-year career. White/Stricklin should hire him as a "real" coach for big men. The transferred aggression & determination would do our "inside men" a great service. ... Bet Noah would fire White?

He was a great player until the nagging injuries started. I wish him well.

People forget that he was considered the best center in the nba for a short period of time. He came in 4th in NBA mvp voting one of the years that he was an all-star.

Best center to ever play for Florida imo and the leader of our championship teams... So arguably the best Florida player ever. Statue of him would be cool

Will be interesting to see if he pursues another career that's basketball related or just goes and does his own thing.

If we’re doing a statue, it should be the entire ‘04s plus Hump. That would be great in front of the ODome.

Well, the geniuses in the athletic department already let the 10 year anniversary go by. Maybe they do something in March 2027?

Foley & Co. are waiting for a really special occasion. They're doing it at halftime of the home football game against Notre Dame. They know it's going to be a packed house...never mind that the basketball players (at least the ones still alive) will all be using walkers and canes due to their old age.

Neal Walk averaged 19 reb and 27 pts a game one year. BUT I get it. He was amazing on those runs to the titles...........

Ya neal probably our most dominant player ever... But that was a different era so I feel like it's not really fair to compare. Stats wise noah was never elite (except on defense) but he is the leader of our only championship teams in FLA history so for me that makes him the best, or at least the most important, player in gator bball history.

I think it would be awesome if he replaced Mick Hubert when he hangs up the mic.

If you chose to forgo entry in the NBA and huge dollars, and come back for a second championship, You should have an equally huge group statue in my opinion. Anybody remember any other time that happened. What is the administration thinking. Never mind...oxymoron.

He does not seem like the type to go into coaching. Political activism is more like it. He is a goofball but man did I love him as a Gator. A truly great player, and a beloved teammate.

Here in Miami, where we have a little bit of an issue with the city of Cleveland, Joakim is also appreciated for this:

"I never heard anybody say, 'I'm going to Cleveland on vacation.'" :lol2:
