I really like Davis... but I do cringe a little every time he takes a hit with the ball
Not sure what you’re trying to say here. Are you saying you like RBs that fumble a lot? And yes, it was his fault. I’ve been lamenting Mullen for having the backup RB in on a play of that magnitude, so he’s not solely to blame. But what you’re saying is akin to getting in a wreck because you’re drunk and saying it wasn’t your fault, it was Chevy’s fault for allowing you to buy a car. No matter what was done or not done, he dropped the football. No one else.

What I avoided saying which should be obvious to every frigginbody except pumpers, we should have never been in the position at that point of the game because our defense is so bad. We lost because of defense, not Davis losing the ball on the last drive. We went 8-4 because of that defense. Beating aTm wouldn't have made any difference in the outcome of our season. We lost every game because of the defense, including the one Davis fumbled in on the drive for the go ahead FG.

So the other 59:51 of the game doesn't matter? The fumble didn't lose the game, the game was lost before that. Similar to the LSU game, the game shouldn't have been in the position to have one play to matter. The defense made their schitty ass quarterback look like the heisman winner. That single fumble didn't allow their offense to rush for over 200 yards and pass for over 300 yards. The turnover battle ended even, so one turnover didn't cause the loss.

While I think Grantham and Davis combined to lose the game, your analogy sucks.

Grantham is obviously the drunk (aside: If Grantham is on one side of an analogy, with drunk, passed out, at a strip club, spitting while talking, or smelling of frito lays is on the other, Grantham must always be tied to those traits. It's science). Davis is the Chevy but with a faulty steering wheel that needs to be recalled because it pulls too much to the right. Both contribute to killing a busload of A&M fans who were illegally over-attending a football game during a pandemic to get an unfair advantage by having more fans quiet while we were on defense. But, the steering wheel doesn't kill anyone if the driver isn't drunk in the first place.

Well now I’m all confused. I thought @neteng was the drunk.

And does it actually have to be your bull or can it still belong to the butcher?

Good analogy except the steering wheel pulls to the left and causes sober drivers to veer into oncoming traffic.

Through 4 years of football at two programs, Lingard has not earned reps. Pierce, Davis and Wright have over 10 combined years experience in the program to Bowman's 5 weeks. Mullen is the head coach. I would be surprised if they had surplanted any of them.
Lingard is looking very Moody-ish from where I’m sitting
