I drink a good bit of milk, sometimes chocolate. It was part of my diet when I was competing in ironmans and did a lot of good.

Don't come @ me bro :thug:

Captains log, day 2 part 2.

27 hours in and feel immensely better this afternoon. Very mild headache, haven't had a fever since around noon. No other symptoms and I'm actually tasting food again as long as it's not real mild flavors like lunch meat or milk.

Just feel tired and get a little spacy if I walk around for more than a few minutes. I'm guessing by this time tomorrow I'll be pretty much over it.

I’ve heard the “tired” lasts as much as a couple of weeks. The “lazy” lasts a lifetime.

Captains log, day 3.

Slept well, woke up feeling pretty good. Got a dry cough and a bit of a sore throat but that's about it. Feels like an ordinary cold now. Wife sort of regressed a bit, last 2 days she's had some body aches, chills and exhaustion but feels alot better today as well. We're both about over it.

And for those that say this is nothing like the flu... Well... It's exactly like any flu I've ever had.

I believe I had it around Thanksgiving, the week before.
It felt a lot like the flu to me, only with more coughing and a steady feeling like crap, rather than the ups and downs you typically go through with the normal flu.
I was out for nearly a week...spent much of the time sleeping lol

The variations of symptoms is what is so weird to me. Your experience seems to be the norm, but I with the flu I rarely hear someone say they barely had symptoms, didn’t know they had it, etc. and also rarely hear someone say “it put me down for 2 weeks and I thought I was going to die”. There seems to be a much wider range with this thing.

There is a young lady at work, probably early 30s, who has been out for a month, was hospitalized, and still isn’t out of the woods. She’s a heavy girl, and obesity seems to be a big factor in how people react to getting this (It’s a fatty killer!).

That was my nickname at UF. More to love I always said.

That’s the part that drives me crazy. It has been well documented for a year at this point that obesity and other unhealthy lifestyle traits are a big part of the equation. And yet I’ve read that the average American has gained weight over the last 12 months, and is heavy drinking more than before. So the end result now is every time “Fat Becky” from accounting gets it and is on the verge of death, it just fuels this “even young people!” nonsense, which only slows down the timeline of moving things back to normal. You’ve had a year to get your act together and more time to eat healthy and exercise than you’ve ever had before. At this point, these stories, with a handful of exceptions, are a lifestyle choice and you’re electing to assume those risks. So when you have a worse than expected experience, don’t blame Covid or people trying to live. Blame the Bugles and (diet) Dr. Pepper you’ve lived off your whole life.

Good to hear you’re handling things @Durty South Swamp. And BNA, just to satisfy Towels’n’Sporks, when she’s released tell us about the behemoth coworker’s footwork. We could use a Tackle from what I’ve read.
