Wishful thinking:
Mann stays on a rampage = 22 points.
Appleby avoids TOs = 14 pts.
Castleton gets fed-up (pun) = 17 pts.
Locke hits = 12 pts.
Payne plays clear-headed = 9 pts.
Duruji in the right places = 8 pts.
80+points, Gators win, Gators win !

I see a very ugly game by both teams but VT adjusts after halftime and wins going away by 12-15 points easy if the game is even played. Teams have until Tuesday to withdraw due to Covid concerns. Probably going to be some forfeits in the tourney this year due to Covid like in the conference tourneys.

Maybe I’m getting old and cranky, but I am as apathetic about this game as I was our bowl game against Oklahoma.

Unlike the bowl game, I guess this game counts. But, it’s tough to see this team and it’s artard offense go anywhere.

Anyone think our seeding is a cha-ching bracket breaker for Vegas. A bunch of folks bet and fill out brackets without ever having paid attention to college BB, pick the mighty Gators cause they heard of us as a BB school far better than VA Tech. (Not that the selection committee pays any attention to betting)

No I don't think it has anything to do with betting. It is possible the committee saw it as a pick 'em game even though it's a 10-7 matchup and they are anticipating a very possible upset. After all, there is no madness without upsets so it's probably not beyond the committee to try to manufacture some just in case there are no small school Cinderellas this year.

I do think VT has a gripe with their seeding considering they are ranked 22nd in the nation so based only on that should be between a 5 and a 6 seed so how the hell are they a 10? The good news for them is they got the least deserving 7 seed in their opening game matchup, and by being a 10 they avoid playing the 1 the opening weekend if they get past the first game.

Opening line looks like Gators -1 so basically a pick 'em going along with what I said above. The committee may have actually been doing VT a favor by not giving them an 8 seed for example since that would have them facing Baylor in the second round.

Hinkle Fieldhouse at Butler U.? Isn't that where Jimmy Chitwood rose up and made a last second jumper to send the real life Milan High School to the Indiana High School Championship in the 1950's?

I have the Gators winning the entire thing. Mike White gets vindication. Gets crowned as greatest coaching job ever.

Appleby has zero turnovers

Whitey has a better chance of winning it all than Appleby does of committing zero turnovers. He'd find a way to turn the ball over while sitting on the bench.
