The real season begins tonight. No more excuses or screwing around with the lineups. Tonight's game will be the most important game of the season until the NCAA tourney unless there's a tight race for the SEC regular season title at the end. Show us some hope gators!

It isn't an excuse. We are missing our 2 midweek starters who are out for the year. We are missing Specht who has been hurt for a while. I haven't seen news of him returning anytime soon. We are throwing Carrion out there and he wasn't even recruited to be a pitcher. Butler continues to get innings as well and he sucks. Unless someone surprises, we are screwed in the midweek games because there simply isn't anyone. The hope was Aleman would be a primary guy out of the pen, but he can barely get his fastball over the plate. We will be blowing leads all year long.

I think you misunderstand...Which isn't surprising given the few vocal people that somehow think it makes sense to fire a head coach that has one a national championship and 2 sec championships in the last 3 seasons...

By "no more excuses," I'm just saying that what we see is what we are from this point forward. Sully always plays with the lineups and pitching up to this point in the season. Its quite obvious that our bullpen is struggling mightily from our injuries.

Keeping in mind that this was 'just one game' but Gator pitching and offense played its best of the season tonight. The infield defense had a couple of good plays late but overall may be the worst infield we have had in a couple of decades. I will have to check the stats to confirm. Mace was great on the mound and generally the offense performed better with 2 strikes than they have in a long time against a quality conference opponent. Hopefully the improvement continues. Go Gators!!

Time to close it out. Man on 1st with no outs. Top of the 9th. This is where the fun begins.

Strikeouts:
6 on Thursday
5 on Friday

That is an improvement but the A&M pitchers are not elite like the ones we will face against Vandy

So true. Good start to the SEC but need to sweep/ A&M is good but not as good as they have been the past few years. But it is good to see better D, fewer K's and less walks issued by the pitching staff
