Knowing Grantham is on the sidelines takes away all hope of an SEC title run. Mullen has hit his ceiling as a head coach: New Year 6 bowl win and almost beating Alabama.

and almost beating Alabama.
he didn't almost beat ****. Trailer bammer took two quarters off, knowing that if they needed to score they could at will and that if they show two/ three high that Mullinz will just run the clock out with option runs or sideways passed, just as he has done with Ugly when down big.

The second best team on the field in Atlanta was Trailerbammer's backups. And they knew it.

Great. Our new “coach” starts off with one of the most idiotic quotes possible in the sports context. Hope our players aren’t worrying about getting blown up by the maroon sabans and dwags. We don’t want them grinding in the weight room. Nope, get a good prayer in boys. God is busy placing bets on college sports, he/she’s got us if we just put in the prayer time.

I realize this might be a foreign concept to some, but it can also reveal depth of character and clear understanding of what’s important in life.

You and Durty are so sensitive about this issue. No one said he can’t pray, love Jesus openly, etc. The point is that verse represents the antithesis of the message a coach needs to be sending. And that’s what he chose to lead with. He wasn’t hired as team chaplain or the Newberry Baptist church league coach. He was hired to motivate SEC players to work harder, not rely on others, and not have excuses. That quote is an odd choice to get that process started.

Let's be rillz.

No recruit gives a shyt about some back office type we stole from South Miss anyway.

Bammer is out hiring former HC's and coordinators from NFL or P5 and we hire these clowns for 9.75 an hour. But only two of them.

I'll rephrase. He lost by single digits to Bama. Does that unwad your panties?

Last one, he is tied for second with most points scored against Nick Saban while at Bama.

Whats his record against Saban while at Bama and where does that rank?

You know, if he was recruiting a lot better and making staff changes that is obvious that needs to be made instead of doubling down with fathead todd and continuing to be middle of the pack SEC recruiter then the things you are saying would have more meaning. The upward trend he made the first two seasons was good for the first two seasons but now its becoming obvious that he has plateaued. The whole only loss to bama by single digits, just a penalty and fumble away from going to the playoffs and so on doesn't cut it anymore. This season won't be any different than last season yet there will be some touting all those moral victories as if it is Mullen's 2nd season.

According to wikipedia, a backhanded compliment is defined as "an insult that is disguised as, or accompanied by, a compliment, especially in situations where the belittling or condescension is intentional."

I just thought I'd go ahead and explain all of my posts today in this thread.

The classic "if my aunt has balls she'd be Sasquatch situation."

good SEC coordinators get prime jobs. Mullins got Cowbell and no other offers in a decade. he's a mediocre maybe even above average coordinator, with serious problems of predictability, and no understanding of using tempo to the advantage of the offense.

If he could recruit or assemble the decent staff he wouldn't have been stuck at Cowbell, on the hot seat after losing to South Alabama at home, and available for Tennessee's 17th pick or our 3rd.
