Matsuyama is crushing this thing.
Nuked a 4 iron over 15 green into the pond. Here’s an opening, but Soufflé needs to get up and down from the sand for a potential 2 shot swing.Unless the Japanese guy pulls a van de velde this is shaping up to be a rather lame Sunday at Augusta .
@Theologator ...I know S.W. Kim broke his putter. Did Matsuyama break his too?
Gotta hand it to Matsuyama...he had a perfect opportunity to choke it away, but he got the job done. Young Zalatoris had an amazing tournament, he’s quite a ball striker, but what could have been if his putting was better. He looks like he’s got the potential to be the next Justin Thomas. Great tournament, as expected.

Yeah it did. I thought he had a few others that could have been made. I was streaming the event and got a good close up look on a missed short putt where it looked as if he took the putter back to the inside. The result was a little shove to the right. Hard to get the face back to square on the line of impact when you don’t take it away square. Might be a mechanical flaw; might be nerves. Regardless, it was critical.Zalitoris” 3-putt on 17 wound up being the difference.

What hole was that big breaking left to right putt that he ran 10 feet past the hole. Pretty sure it was right at the end. Maybe the first putt was from slightly off the green or something. He actually birdied 17 on Sunday. He 3 putted 10 and 13 with horrendous first putts, but the 3-putt(s) are still what cost him a better chance.
