Great recruiting and poor coaching sound like another SEC coach? The only difference is that Sully has the one Natty.

Investing that amount of money in a program watched by at best 4k people was always a bad investment.

If anyone is watching Game 2 of the Tinerc series, can someone tell me if Sully has totally gone mad? UF is up 3-0 thru 5 1/2 innings and Aleman started and has been good thru 5 innings at 80 or so pitches. Now mind you he is usually a late game reliever making only his 2nd start and also pitched this past Tuesday night. He was looking a bit weary and had thrown 80 or so pitches and you are going to bring Leftwich in next anyway? Why send Aleman back out there only to watch him throw about 8 straight balls, then bring in Leftwich? Leftwich is not comfortable coming out of the bullpen anyway so why not let him start the top half of the inning and make it feel somewhat normal? Instead Sully proceeds to watch Aleman walk 2, then brings in Leftwich to watch him throw 8 straight balls. Goodbye Jack and however many batters later Tinerc now leads 5-3! What has been one of the biggest knocks on Sully? Game situational management.
Totally agree....but I do think Sully has lost alot of confidence in Jack and was hoping to get one more inning out of Franco. Sully isn't good a managing his staff IMO. But in fairness to Sully, Jack needs to get his shyt together, whether starting or relieving. If he wants a next level look he better figure how to be at least effective in some role.

Pitching is an issue, combine that with a lineup that likes to watch 89 mph FB come right down the middle of the plate is maddening. Also that last breaking ball that Sterling watched ( I believe it was Sterling) he acted like it was the greatest pitch he had ever seen. Furthermore, he got nothing but breaking balls for the most part. He should have known that's what he was getting and NOT the FB. They had an open base and were willing to either get him to bite at a bad pitch or walk him.

Huge win to avoid the sweep at Tennessee. 3-run home run to go from down 6-4 to up 7-6 and then finished it off. Needed that win badly.

Well a W is always nice, but l another poor performance all around. If not for Armstrong's 3 run pinch hit bomb and Scott's excellent bullpen performance, the weekend was kept from being a complete disaster. This team has a very long way to go.

Quite a game. Scott gets his first win. Now let's get payback from the clowns!

MUST win game vs FSU tonight. FSU record wise is not very good at 16-12 (11-10 in ACC play) but ranked #24. Our Gators might be tettering a bit after losing the series @ #6 Tenn this past weekend easily. If we lose to FSU, our season may very well spiral downward if our guys can't pull things together. Expectations are very high with this program and so far we have been underwhelming while trying to figure out our pitching rotation that hasn't been the same since Covid shut down the season last year. I'm afraid this team just doesn't have the it factor and will struggle to get into a regional.

Agree with durty that our hitting sucked and we were probably like 0-8 or something crazy with risp but fsu was sending out some of their best pitchers against us while our starter had a 6+ ERA and we were able to pull it out. Maybe calilao should be getting more playing time.

Leftwich in relief was throwing some nasty breaking balls. 7 Ks in 4 innings.

Good to beat the criminoles but we struck out 13 times and left 8 on base. 5 players struck out twice and everybody else struck out at least once except Hickey and Halter. Noles had 5 errors and we only managed 2 unearned runs. Gators made 2 errors and gave up 1 unearned. So many opportunities and so many failures. On the plus side Milchin and Leftwich only gave up 3 hits, 2 runs, 1 earned run, 2 walks, 1 hit by pitch and got 12 k's.
