Make that Florida is in first with a 19.125 lead. Again, I don't know how much of a lead that is.

That means they haven't added in all the other teams' scores yet. In college gymnastics, the lead is usually just a fraction...maybe a point and a quarter at most.

Squeaked through to the final four by 0.075. That wasn't a good meet for them at all. Hope they bring it like they did all year until this last month.

Very questionable, I am sure folks are going to be complaining about Cal not advancing. A performance like that tomorrow will not cut it. Idk if Rowland needs to sit Richards, her head is not right

I agree. She has a mental block and can't shake it. But others didn't do well either. Baumann didn't score well on vault or beam where she normally does very well, and GG fell on her only event. The only event they looked like themselves was on floor. If they don't go over 198 tomorrow, forget it. I'm not sure they can do that at the moment.

So true, Michigan looks locked in and Oklahoma is always locked in. This is my biggest knock on Rowland, she just doesn't seem to get that "I will crush you" mentality going for the team in the postseason, too much, rah rah, we love you. She needs to spend some time with KJ at Oklahoma, those girls always remind me of some East German team of old with cold stares in their eyes.

Inside word is that Richards has been hurt since early in season and has been struggling with managing it and maintaining good attitude. I think there are reasonable alternatives to her at this point.

Agreed. I think all 3 of Richards' scores were dropped in the last meet, and all 3 should have been dropped today, except for Gallentine falling on bars, forcing the team to count Richards' 9.7750. She was a rock last year, and early this year. Lately, sandstone at best.

The challenge is that due to injury, I don't think they have anyone they can put in for her on floor. Bars and beam yes. To be fair though, her bars was not that bad, ie no major deductions and other than the OOB her floor was ok. Beam though complete disaster.

Gators going today against Michigan, Oklahoma, and Utah. The Gators appear to be a team taped together at this point and mentally straining under the pressure of the situation. But despite everything, they are going in the last meet of the season today. I urge folks to check it out on ABC this afternoon. If UF can dig deep and pull out the one performance that has been dormant since late Feb, they can walk away with the title. It will be interesting to see if Rowland makes line-up changes based upon performances yesterday. I will also be interested to see if some of the other teams like, Michigan or Utah get caught up in the moment and falter a bit. At this point, Oklahoma is the odds on favorite. But all it takes is a fall or bad wobble. Go Gators!!!

Did every girl in the rotation fall on beam?
We were so damn solid to start the year on beam it's baffling, unless all our injuries are there.

You could have said, “Richards, again.”

I think she’s fallen on the beam, in the lead off position, in the last 3 or 4 meets. Not what you need from your lead off athlete. It puts pressure on the rest of the team, and after having to count a fall on the first event, put added pressure on the whole team for the rest of the events. Florida was #1 in the nation on beam during the regular season, abysmal in the postseason.

Disappointing finish to a promising season, but I’m proud that they made it to the NC meet after missing out 2 years ago. The experience should help the team in the future, though we’ll miss the toughness of Skaggs and Baumann.

Two things.

I can’t help but feel like this team wasn’t up to task psychologically and was overwhelmed by the event. Quite the opposite of the mental state of the Rhonda Faehn teams.

What the he!! Has happened to SEC gymnastics? Just a few years ago the final 6 would have included at least 4 SEC schools but now there is only UF in the final four and I believe only 2, or maybe 3 in the semifinals.

I guess injuries. The only thing for sure is something bad happened because that wasn't the same team I watched most the regular season. I certainly thought we had plenty of depth to handle injuries.
