Maybe they'd be a little less pissed if there was a way for other teams to earn their way in to the Super League, to replace a team not performing as well. Isn't that the way it usually works in those leagues?

From what I have read it's 12 or 15 permanent teams and about 5 or so that would rotate in by earning their way in. The money would be ridiculous.

I'm making an extra tab in the Excel sheet.
Did you include yourself? I mean you are posting in the thread and you were forced to play back in the day.

If anyone wants to know why Donkey balls hates soccer, he was forced to play by gun point by the flaming dudes on the team.....

Ahh, okay. Thanks again.

So I guess a lot of the uproar is from fans of the smaller market teams, whose reaction is presumably, "so you're telling us we have no longer have a chance?"

One of the best things about European soccer is relegation and promotion.

Every year the worst 3 teams in the Premier league get relegated to the minors. The top 3 teams in the minors get promoted to the premier league.

Holds owners accountable for being cheap and putting out a crappy product (F’ing Hugh Culverhouse when he owned the Bucs: even made players pay for cokes in the locker room)

I didn't know I had to be specific.

tab title "Mexican Hockey Fans of Questionable Sexual Orientation". I will use really small font.

What's the tab on the spreadsheet called that has all the homoeroticism websites listed on it (so that you know where NOT to go, of course)?

It’s a pretty big deal. Club soccer is divided into leagues for each Country. England has the premier league, Spain has La Liga, etc.

When the domestic league season is over the top teams from each league that year compete in the champions league. The champions league determines the best club team in all of Europe.

What’s proposed is the top teams from each league (Man U, Barcelona, Chelsea, etc) will form their own Super League. If this happens the domestic leagues are worthless and the Champions League will probably die.

It’s like Bama, OSU, Oklahoma, etc all bail on their conferences. Now the SEC is left with garbage like Vandy, Miss St, and UF.

The financial implications of this are HUGE.

UEFA said any players who join this super league can’t compete in World Cup.

This could ruin global soccer

So you’re suggesting that unchecked greed will destroy a sports league?

I don’t believe it, there has to be another factor because if greed hurt professional sports we in America would have experienced this already.......wait, never mind

Great game. Best game for young kids to play. Simple. But furriners play it so gotta be bad or ideologically dangerous...........
Coach, while I tend to agree I am a soccer snob. I hated when the kids who never played sports were thrown on a soccer team because kids can run and kick a ball (which ain't true). And then stuck them on defense. That was a death sentence for a goalkeeper (which I played). Thankfully I was like Scott Sterling out there.

Sure looks like you are interested, got the ghey and are coming out of that closet looking for that first public schlong to bang your butt.

I heard it on the radio today. Evidently the European leagues are being reformed and/or some kind of new super league is being formed, and fans are all up in arms about it. I found the discussion hard to follow due to having two fully functional testicles.

Discuss...if you got the ghey.

Gotta say, you did a lot better job of breaking it down than the two chuckleheads I heard on local sports talk radio today. Your SEC analogy was on point.

So if I understand correctly, it's like if all the perennial CFP teams made their own league and played each other for the "championship" every year, no longer bothering with the formality of having to earn their way in by beating lesser teams during the regular season?

Question: If this league is going to be made up of the same top teams that make the Champions League every year anyway, then what's the point? Why do they feel like they need a new league?

I respect all you homos for coming out, and I mean that. Don't be shy! Work it, girls! Throw your shoulders back and sashay down that runway!

In that case I love the idea! I am 100% on board.

It's about money, pure and simple.

The top clubs want to minimize financial risk (the cost of a bad season and missing out on European competition is tens of millions a year in direct payouts AND most large sponsors have clauses that pay less if you aren't playing in the Champion's League) and increase profit.

FIFA/UEFA are btching to high heaven because most of their best and most lucrative brands are forming their own competition (driving down the money they get from organizing European competition).

I don't have much sympathy for the clubs themselves (despite being an avid Manchester United fan) since it's a pretty transparent money grab; but I have approximately zero sympathy for FIFA/UEFA here too. They've been ignoring the big clubs for years and forcing them to play more games (increasing wear and tear on the star players, the clubs' money-makers and prized financial assets)--while also being corrupt to the core. Fuch those guys, but really fuch everyone involved.

Hey I never said I wasn't interested, but I'm not that interested. Visiting the zoo doesn't make you a monkey. So thanks for the offer but I'll pass. :wink2:
