Yeah that is what I am saying, put together a collective group from here and we could get Gator athletics turned around. The whole athletic office should be cleaned out top to bottom. In a year or 2 we would be top 3 in the nation with the best facilities with no expenses spared.

That’s the ultra comical part of Gator athletics right now. I think he’s being exaggerative, but it’s probably also not terribly far from the truth.

Have a spring game. Recognize where profits come from and prioritize both resources and demands accordingly. Act like you’re not intentionally trying to isolate at least half of the fan base. And kindly launch anyone within the program that doesn’t share that vision. Those simple steps would solve a massive amount of problems and it took about 30 seconds to come up with them.

Say what you will, but the general sentiment of this board dating back to the old GSMB days has been very prescient in relation to Gator sports and the school's direction.
Ive seen this so many times.

It is basically the story of the Cincinnati Reds. They were a powerhouse until the late 70s, then they got a new owner and GM who just wanted to milk every penny out of what he bought. There was no commitment to winning. They specifically said they werent even going to try to compete with NYY anymore.

The oldest franchise in mlb deteriorated at a rapid pace. Guess what happened to revenue? Even thinks like merch sales tanked, when they used to be #2 or #1 in MLB.

Now they dont talk championships, just "competing well", maybe more wins than losses, kaybe even the playoffs some day, and no one even remembers when they used to be a powerhouse.

Its A LOT harder to climb back up the mountain.

Recruits today dont even remember our last championship season, because they were 3-4 years old. Fooley and Company continue to power dive.

Marge Schott was a classic. Didn't she once say something to the effect of "Hitler was good in the beginning but went too far?"

She was a nutso for sure but she didnt destroy the franchise. She actually tried to build it back and nearly did before her Trumplike mouth was her downfall.

She also talked about her "million dollar n-words" at one point (I think it was Eric Davis and Barry Larkin). Oddly, the players almost to a man seemed to love her, despite herself.

If I were an owner I would have been sad to see her go, because you knew no matter what you said, ol Marge had said something worse.

It is so obvious that the incompetence is mind-numbing or, worse, it is deliberate.

It was Eric Davis and Dave Parker. I always thought Howard Metzenbaum was far more disgusting for trying to launch government witch hunts into her business affairs and her personal belongings. It isn't against the law to be controversial and outrageous.
