I’ve one 1 that I would rate about a 7. She’s pretty hot but she’s super religious and her oldest son is a 9 year old wuss. My 6 year old tunes him up regularly when he gets mouthy. The rest are either well past their prime or Karens. Therefore, I vote for fences.

Have one neighbor who's from Texas and also a former Marine. He's the head bartender at a local joint and gives mad discounts. We get along famously.

Can't tell you much about any of the others.

Good neighbors now but had issues with previous residents adult kids that had drug issues, had moved back in and actually threatened my family. This happened while I was gone or it would have ended differently than him being arrested and put in jail. Still has restraining order which keeps him from moving back into that house. The other druggie got kicked out of the other house soon after. Nothing but trouble from adult kids who live off their parents..

I have three neighbors on our "spur" that are close to us. One elderly couple that are just wonderful. The other two are younger (mid-30's) with kids. One has two daughters and the other has 3 boys and 3 girls. Each of our neighbors are terrific but I don't love them more than my family. When the leaves are off the trees we can see two of their houses. During the warmer months we can't see either. They are good people regardless.

Oh, and the one with 6 kids is also a Federal Firearms licensed dealer on the side. He gets tons of free ammo and shoots most of it about as soon as he gets it. All the noise from his shooting doesn't bother me one bit either.

Both mine are retired pilots. One a Navy O-6, one a Marine O-6. One is a cranky old "lawn guy" who mutters under his breath, the other is a non-cranky "lawn guy" who is too nice. I think both are "lawn guy's" to avoid their wives. We need to go back to a time like Gran Torino in Detroit where the men had a DETACHED garage to escape to... attached garages suck because wives can just open the door to constantly check on how much beer said "lawn guy" is consuming.

All in all, great neighbors, we never hear them, they have nice lawns, good for our property value.

Nothing beats a detached cottage on the lake for swilling suds
but the empties are getting to be a problem...

Just met the neighbors who are building on the lot next to ours a couple months ago...So far they've cost me close to $5K to have an old well abandoned and move(tear down) our brick mailbox which encroached on their property(used to be part of our lot)...I'm not too sure what they actually think of me because when they introduced themselves as "partners" I kinda chuckled under my breath wondering who was the pitcher and who was the catcher.... I had seen them sitting very close to each other on their dock several times before and also thought I saw them playing Badminton or something under the moonlight on their vacant lot so I kinda suspected the situation.
Anyway they are putting up a huge row of Podocarpus as a privacy wall all the way around the front and side of the property so hopefully I never see or hear from them again...

3 neighborhoods with good neighbors but fences are a must. There’s always the ahole, Karen and weirdo on your street.

the house we live in now has a pond behind it in the middle of about 30 houses. There’s one lady that yells at everyone for being on her private pond.

There was a 125 acre lot that sold recently on our one lane road. It has a railroad track running through the middle otherwise it would have been a perfect subdivision with access to a major road. The person that bought it said they are going to build their house there so they were just clearing the fence row. Little did they know that the fence row and trees they took out belong to the neighbors on the other side of the road. One of them is a lawyer and he found the property deed and the first 8’ belongs to four other families. Oops! That seems odd so it will be interesting to see how that plays out. Welcome to the hood!

On the left is a pleasant older
Asian couple . Friendly and always waving . On
Christmas morning they knocked on my door. I answer to the woman holding a large box , probably about 3 feet wide . Merry Christmas she tells
Me , and hands me the box . I told her the same and brought the box inside. I open it up to
Find about a dozen large apples . An odd
Gift I thought to myself , but thoughtful nonetheless.
I would carve a couple up and stuff in the bird I roasted a few days later . It was a delight . Some
Months later I cut their grass as a sign of gratitude .

On the left is a relatively new older couple . They are nice and friendly as well . I’m pleased they moved in because the previous lady would whine about the dog barking in the middle of the ****ing day . Definitely a step up with the new folks .

Across the street is a friend of mine who played
Pro basketball in China . Recently he decided to go into coaching and is doing so in Vietnam. He took the wife and kids last week and will be back around January . Good folks and they will be missed . The kids around the same age.

Next to him is a retired lawyer from Sudan. Nice guy and very book smart . Cant fix a thing to save his life and has no sense when it comes to basic yard work .
I told the story in the lounge one day, but will do so again . The man bought a new lawn mower and asked me to help set it up for him . After getting the wheels on and everything setup properly I told him he can give it a start . Now we just need to add the gas. Samir would go on to tell me he had already done that . Long story short the pinhead put the oil in the gas tank and the gas where the oil goes .
It was toast before it even got christened .

I cant complain really. Our lots are 5 acres, so we have plenty of elbow room. I generally try to avoid them. Not because they are unpleasant or annoying.... it's simply that I dont care. But my preference would be no neighbors. Or they are so far away that I would have to drive to them. Maybe one day.
