There are things I have today that I wish I would’ve had years ago that make things a lot easier or better. Here’s my top three:
  • A good set of hair clippers / beard trimmers (I hate going to the barbershop). I recall my uncle getting a device called the TrimComb and gapping my cousins heads up. No gimmicks, just good clippers.
  • An articulated ladder. Great for changing bulbs or other installations over stairwells and other uneven surfaces. If I’d had one of these 40 years ago, I’d still have been an electrician and never gotten into education.
  • Duluth Flex Firehose pants. Most comfortable and durable pants ever. Can’t wear ‘em out or tear ‘em up and they bend easily with out constricting movement.
What’s yours?

Knowledge of things that should be avoided at all cost. If I had that knowledge back in 1996 then there are some individuals that would have never been a part of my life for more than a few days at most.

Living in KY(cold winters) one of my favorite luxuries for me is a mattress pad heater. Never climb into a cold bed again. This is different from an electric blanket.

Costco Sherpa blankets - at least five

A GREAT set of knives makes cooking easier.

Couldn’t agree more. We had a kitchen set of Chicago Cutlery we got as a wedding gift that served us well for almost 30 years. Recently replaced them with a set of Henkels. Great kitchen tools.

I bought myself a Blazen Chef’s knife for my 45th. I have no idea why I waited so long and have added several others over the past 20.
Knife sharpening is also a good skill to have.

The Duluth commercials crack me up and I get there fliers, but damn they look hot! :)

About 10 years ago I bought a few new Wusthoff knives from eBay. What a difference a good knife makes. Slowly been added to my collection. Found a nice set of Schmidt Bros steak knives that we love too.

I’ve heard it’s bad luck to give knives as gifts but that really would be the best wedding gift.

They have some heavy duty pants that can be a little warm, but the regulars wear very comfortably for me where temperature is concerned. Or did you mean HOT...

Agree!
I gave my nephew a Konosuke HD Chef knife for a wedding present a few years back. I think it is the only reason his wife likes me :) she still raves about it

My top 3 favorite new(er) items of the past decade or so are:
Kuerig
Weighted blanket
Yoga pants (yeah, I know ya gotta endure the old hags and wildebeests that think they should be allowed to wear them, too, but the rest more than make up for it :naughty:)

Screen porches. Mine is my favorite spot to read “Bits and Pieces!” (Preferably on a cool fall Sunday morning while sipping a hot mug of coffee.)

I travel a bit, including on some trains. My Bose noise cancelling headphones are a godsend.

You can block out all the background noise and just relax with some Johnny Cash. For anyone who uses public transportation or flies a lot, it’s amazing how much they reduce stress.

18 posts in this thread and none of you degenerates have posted a picture of an inflatable girlfriend yet? I don't even recognize this place any more.
