Overall not bad. Close proximity, so the fact that everyone keeps to themselves as well as they do is surprising. To the left a couple with older kids. No idea what they do, but they're always pleasant in passing. To the right, it's an older woman who's meticulous about landscaping and has saved me some money by raising parts of my canopy as she's having her own raised. Across the street there's a younger couple with a baby. He's a professor and Italian, so we talk occasionally. And then there's an older lady who's very nice and the closest we come to a "cup of sugar" neighbor. I don't mind helping, but have been asked to do everything from open jars, to check her oil, to get an armadillo out of her garage. Back in 2016 when one of the "storms" came through and forecasts showed upwards of 30mph winds, she asked if I could lend her a hand. I didn't mind and would often help out elderly ones in my old community with shutters and storm prep. But that was like real storms and direct hits. I didn't have it in me to debate that it wasn't going to be that bad so I just agreed. It turns out she had about 100 little potted plants, wind chimes and figurines in her backyard and garden that she wanted moved inside. It was an excruciating 2 hours.

But as I said, all in all, not too bad. I'd say an 8. Certainly better than the homo couple and looming all-night gay extravaganza that Crete's contending with.

The first day we moved in a neighbor stopped by and helped unload some stuff. Turns out they had lived 2 miles away from me in Tallahassee when I was a kid and knew my dad. They were incredible neighbors. Even stitched up Seedy’s eyebrow for him one night when the dog busted it open. His wife was my Lamaze coach too. Also, we were the third people on our street (in KY) to have lived in Tallahassee.

We actually tore down our farm house and rebuilt in the same spot. While rebuilding we lived with another neighbor.

we are all on 5+ acre lots so we have a nice cushion but the people directly next door are a PIA. We need a Mexican sized wall between us.

I’ve already said they’re both older, probably in their mid to late 70s, you sicko. An old lady can’t can’t lift her 2 pound butterfly garden figurines without help, and you want to know how she’d look in a two-piece? What’s the matter with you?

Neighbor to the left - old widower I’ve met once. Seems like a nice guy.

Neighbor to the right - look up “douchebag” in the dictionary and there is his pic. Patting myself on the back, I knew it within 0.4 seconds of meeting him...he and his wife and kids came to introduce themselves when we moved in. He’s the DB that thinks of himself as a liberal philanthropist, writing articles like “Make millionaires like me pay more taxes”, when as best as I can tell the guy has a string of 9 month jobs and personal bankruptcies - but his wife is a dermatologist. I overheard him f-bombing a delivery guy on the phone from the back yard, because his chicken schwarma was late...totally abusive.

My neighbors are all nice people. The man across the street from me is a retired engineer who did work for his company for several years in Morocco. He talks about the Atlas Mountains of North Africa. He's originally from the mountains of North Carolina, Highlands area. Yep, he’s an ex-Marine with a kind heart who feeds the local ground hog. He's a University of Alabama grad who doesn't like to watch football. Weird. Really weird, but still a great guy who would give you the shirt off his back.

Got some fun people in our neighborhood. My next door neighbor is nice and is crazy good at DIY projects but I noticed he likes to drink Fresca while working...immediately realized we are not gonna be hanging out together. You drink beer while doing manual labor or GTFO

Fresca is a good hiding place for vodka... just sayin'
