From memory: with fewer than 2 outs and runners on first and second or first second and third and a fly to the infield shall occur which the home plate umpire deems catchall, he shall declare an infield fly and declare the batter to be out.
It will be interesting to see how bad my memory is.

The pop up was between the mound and home plate. Does not get more infield than that. 1 of 4 defenders had ample time to make the catch. There was a runner on 1st base and less than 2 outs.

You must have at least 2 runners on base in force out positions. Infield fly is to prevent intentional drop to get double play from runners who can't leave base. Can't get that with only 1 runner on.

Kendrick Calilao ~ 4 RBI's including a 3 run game winning homer in the top of the 9th with 2 outs.

Probably see Calilao and Acton starting today as that is how Sully's mind works. Calilao can't be worse than Butler at 1B. Butler is awful defensively. Or put Calilao in RF. Thompson might have a great future but watching him field routine balls is frightening. And Acton's defense is his calling card (at least until last nite).

LOL. Sully puts 2 guys out there and they both deliver and it is like Moses walking on water? the same Sully who in the 8th inning of game 1 and the score tied with runners on 1st and 2nd base and ZERO outs refuses to SAC BUNT with his oldest and most experienced player at the plate. BOOM, 3 consecutive STRIKEOUTS later and an inning following you LOSE. Kudos to Calilao and Acton but those 2 guys have not played in a Stone''s Age. Meanwhile Sully puts the same guys out there everyday and all of them swing for the fences and usually come up with air and almost none of them can field for shyt.

But you keep sucking Sully's KOKK when it comes to fundamentals and game management. The line will be very short to get your turn.

Very good win today and it should have been worse. We left double digit runners on base. Barco was excellent and kept the UK hitters off balance. He has tremendous potential and was the only pitcher all weekend in which UK did not hit the ball hard often. Pitched into the 7th. Scott gives up back to back solo homers in the 8th to shave the lead to 5-2, but at least he did not walk anyone before those homers. Gators pull away in 9th. Left too many guys on base and did not have to make any great plays in the field thanks to Barco. Always good to win a series on road. This will easily get us in as Regional host this week but not sure we crack the top 8. Our pitching is way too thin and too weak to carry us very far. that is why we have to get runners home when in scoring position and why the defense much be shored up.

As I suspected both Calilao and Acton started today. both contributed and Calilao stayed hot so he probably stays. Greenfield played catcher and there was only one wild pitch. Greenfield is awful hitter, but did draw a huge walk in the 9th so kudos for that. It was a pleasure to not watch Hickey flail away trying to catch a non perfectly thrown ball. Hickey played 1B and did field one hard hit grounder, so that was good. Might need to give Hickey less time at catcher as he looks worn down and his hitting is not as good. If Armstrong keeps swinging like he did today maybe Hickey can DH some as well. No need to catch him at Stetson. Let him rest.

Agree on all counts. We have improved but i just dont see how we will last long in the postseason with this pitching. Maybe we can get lucky and squeak through to Omaha... Then lose. I'm definitely glad to see hickey batting for us while not being behind home plate.

Another huge win today to make 4 SEC series wins in a row. Gators now 13-3 in their last 16 games. Yet again a great job of situational coaching and hitting. The dumper crowd won't like it but Sully really did another great job today and was also able to keep our pitching in line and strong. Credit Sully and our hitters for making the UK pitchers work as they gave up 10 walks and we only struck out 5 times. Gators pitchers were able to get a total of 13 strikeouts in great pitching by our guys. Gators now 33-14 on the year with only 7 regular season games left.

I had to leave the game at 4-0, but Barco was pitching fantastic; we needed a solid LHP and he has played well all season. I was little worried with Acton coming in game 2, but whatever got him on the pine earlier in the season must have woke him up. The job he and Calilao did in these last two games was a difference maker, especially in game 2. Let's get the hatters mid-week and then sweep the dawgs!!

So I just heard on the Cowbell-GameKokk game that it will likely be this Thursday or Friday May13-14 before they decide on the potential 16 regional hosts sites. They were going to name 20 hosts for 16 spots, but the announcers are saying that there is an argument to name 25 sites just in case things go haywire standings wise in the last 2-3 weeks. So it seems to me that even though they will select regional sites for the 16/ 4 team tourneys, perhaps they are not going to nationally seed the teams until the time all 64 teams are selected????

What would we do without the SEC and the NCAA protecting us all from COVID? TOO MUCH NANNY STATE giving me money, wiping my nose, indicting and convicting us all of racism!! Please make it stop!!

Looks like the baseball team took the night off ~

In a big way. But the weekends are more important by far. Could not hit for shyt, but Sproat had a great fastball. If he can throw the curve for a strike he can be used. Came in highly regarded but so far done nothing. Specht was awful again and he will not be seen in post season. Need to win series this weekend and hopefully a sweep.

A rout in the 8th with the bottom of our line-up coming up, the only thing to do is congratulate the hatters and prepare for the dawgs. Sully has made his share of mistakes but saving his relievers for Friday was a good decision.

The gators are highly touted for their hitting; I think we were told by the announcers last night that we are ranked 2 in the sec in almost every hitting category; but you could have fooled me. We definitely sucked last night. Our pitching last night also made the hatters look like champions. We need an sec sweep in the worst way!
