18 posts in this thread and none of you degenerates have posted a picture of an inflatable girlfriend yet? I don't even recognize this place any more.

:shakehead:

Alex.

So now we know what Alex has. And if she inflates she isn't a girl friend, she is a booty call at least that what you told us.

I was actually the first person to reply, almost immediately... I let it sit for about 3 minutes and then decided to pull my response for the sake of decorum.

I stabbed my inflatable girlfriend to death many years ago. B*tch started rubbing me the wrong way and had to go.

There are things I have today that I wish I would’ve had years ago that make things a lot easier or better. Here’s my top three:
  • A good set of hair clippers / beard trimmers (I hate going to the barbershop). I recall my uncle getting a device called the TrimComb and gapping my cousins heads up. No gimmicks, just good clippers.
  • An articulated ladder. Great for changing bulbs or other installations over stairwells and other uneven surfaces. If I’d had one of these 40 years ago, I’d still have been an electrician and never gotten into education.
  • Duluth Flex Firehose pants. Most comfortable and durable pants ever. Can’t wear ‘em out or tear ‘em up and they bend easily with out constricting movement.
What’s yours?

Duluth Ballroom khaki's are my daily choice.

I LOVE Duluth. I like their shoes too. Really, everything they have.

As for the question re are they too hot, the flex series is a more modern breathable and, yes, flexible fabric. But with the reinforcement and high quality stitching youd expect from Duluth.

P365xl- has replaced my G19. Extraordinary handgun. Site radius of a 320 carry, nearly as small as a singlestack pocket pistol but carries 12-15 rounds.

Hand in hand with the handgun should be a good belt, double layered or reinforced maybe. I think few people know this. I had low quality holsters but if you made me choose between a low quality belt and a high quality holster or vice versa, Id go with the quality belt first.

SSD- it really boosted the computers performance.

I'm carrying a P365 now. Very comfortable and much more concealable than the Kimber Ultra Carry it replaced. I am trying to get comfortable with no external safety; I guess I am a 1911 kinda guy at heart. Oh an the knock down power of the .45 ACP is so much better, huh Law?

Back in the day, NiCad battery powered hand tools were a fuching joke. Completely worthless pieces of crap. So my contribution to this thread is: modern day lithium battery tools for normal every day use.

Still need some good electric tools for some bigger projects.

Kuerig
Weighted blanket

Bought my Kuerig when we were told to start working from home (was going on the office desk). Great investment, BUT....I started drinking waaayyyyy too much coffee and gave myself some issues. Now working on moderation.

Wife LOVED the weighted blanket she got. I hate it. I don't feel any warmer, and with as many times as I have to pee through the night, I feel like I'm getting a constant workout trying to get out of bed or back in.

I travel a bit, including on some trains. My Bose noise cancelling headphones are a godsend.

Bluetooth headphones, with mic and noise cancelling. Love 'em. Been borrowing my sons, until I had to sit down and educate him on what a q-tip is and how to use them, and HOW OFTEN to use them. Disgusting. That, and I always felt guilty misplacing his. Now, I have my own (not Bose, cheap off brand but good), and life is groovy.

SSD- it really boosted the computers performance.

Logically, I know that's true. And I keep telling myself things would be worse on the old platter drives, but it just doesn't feel faster. Still, decided to buy a second one for storing all the apps and data, leaving slow media (music, movies) on the old platter drives.

It was discussed in a different thread, but my purchases of motion sensing LEDs has been one of the most cost effective happy-homeowner investments ever. Large ones in the garage, and anytime I need to fetch tools (something is always breaking in the house) it's nice to be hands free and have the way lit up and auto-off afterward. Also invested in a few motion sensing LED night lights placed strategically (bathrooms, stairs) so night time walking is less dangerous, and if the kids are out of their room at night I can see it light up and let me know

Likewise, we bought the Ring doorbell over a year ago. With wife and I working, we always knew when the kids got home from school or went out to play with neighbors, if anyone came to the door (neighbor kids or package drop offs or solicitors). This gave the wife immense sense of security and being in-touch with the kids and their activities. In recent months, we expanded to the Ring flood lights also with camera. One on the deck can show us the entire yard, so we know when the dog is let out (or not), and when she's being left out too long. That one and the one over the garage can show us when the neighborhood is playing at our house, who is involved, etc. Even makes our house the basketball shoot around late at night, despite a (slight) sloped driveway. The wife likes being 'that' house. I just want them to stop breaking things, drinking all my bottled waters and leaving trash everywhere. I am a grumpy old man.

A zoriuchi water boiler. My gf's sister has one and raves about it so I got one for the gf. She scoffed at it until she started using it. Having immediate access to more than a quart of nearly boiling water makes so many things easier.

Teas, ramen, various instant soups. She loves it...and that goes a long ways to making momma happy. Cause if momma ain't happy, aint nobody happy.

They are great! We’ve had two in 20+ years but they must have been cheaper versions. They lasted less than 5 years each.

I find this quite funny because of the number of people that replied to it with how much they loved them. My BIL has a pair of shorts and I think they are Duluth (maybe not.) He was helping @Seedy with our deck and was trying to sell us on how awesome they were. Plenty of room for nails and a measuring tape etc. He must have bragged on them about 10 times. With the way you guys are talking about them, they must be the same shorts.

I use the SSD as the boot drive with the OS (windows only currently) and most of the programs. Most data and backups are on old school HDs.

It is basically like having your OS and most programs in RAM. If youre not seeing a pretty drastic improvement, then you have some other bottleneck issue, ram, processor, something. Or maybe it is connected poorly. Mine is on the board, not on a SATA.
