Bucs excited about potential of Tom Brady's possible successor, rookie Kyle Trask

But the coaching staff has been impressed with the way he’s taken to the playbook, with about 70% of the offense thrown at him in a three-day span.

“He did great. I thought he was fantastic,” Arians said. “Just the way he processes information. To take it from the first time ever hearing it -- he was throwing it to the right guy. There were some really good, disguised coverages that he saw the first day of his career, so I was really impressed with how he processes information, and he was very accurate.”

I don't think I'm going out on a limb by saying Trask will have the best NFL career of all former Gator QB's.

I hope this is genuine, but it was rookie camp and OTAs. Every team is bragging about some pick that wasn't in the first round as their steal.

Trask is a smart kid, which he proved when he stepped in during the 2019 season. I expect him to process the playbook relatively quickly. At the very least this shows his potential for the best job in all of the NFL, the backup quarterback. A smart player who can learn with limited practice time.

The issue that any player that follows Brady is going to have is the salary cap hell the Bucs will be in. Most of their great defense are still on rookie deals, and their OL which was greatly improved are on mostly rookie deals. By the time Brady hangs it up, those players are either going to get paid by the Bucs or someone else.

@oxrageous , please add the qualifier "Swamp Donkey in shambles!!" to the thread title please. Yeah, I know it has punctuation in the suggested title, but I think an exception is more than warranted in this case!!

Remember, Trask has the least playing-time experience of any past or present NFL QB.??
He's served a year & a half in the QB driver's seat. HisQB mental/physical IQ should be able to skyrocket. Coaches can help build him. Brady can surely help, and the in-tact Tampa OL can help. A competitive running game will help. The Southwest Florida skies are clear for Trask's career. Think how great for all concerned that they can give Brady some stretches of rest without having total recapitulation to the opposing team. Gonna be fun if it materializes.
