This is a very good win today. Not b/c Bama is a good team, they are not but Bama was a very hungry team with a ton to play for. Prior to SEC tourney Bama was not going to the NCAA tourney. But beat USCe (who is in the NCAA tourney) in Round 1 and you can see the bubble. Beat Tinerc (a Top 8 National Seed) in Round 2 and you are holding a sharp needle poking at the bubble. If Bama beats us today they are going to the tourney. We also had something to play for as the farther we go, the more we get talked about in the Top 8 Seeding meeting. Sure it would be huge to win the tourney but having played better this week it would be a bigger bonus to find two more legitimate arms that can actually pitch effectively in the NCAA tourney.

The pitching has been outstanding so far in the tournament. When Aleman is on, as he was vs Bama, his stuff is filthy. 95+ FB with sink to go along with the slider is brutal for the hitters. He's been very inconsistent this season, but he really stepped up yesterday. Hopefully, he can repeat that performance for the rest of the postseason.

Pitchers have, overall, gotten better and better as the season has progressed. Hitting has been up and down. I know Arkansas just killed us but if our pitching stays like it has been in these first 3 games, we are going to be very dangerous in the real tourney.

Aleman is amazing with his smooth delivery. He looks in slow motion but then boom, the fastball is 92-94 mph. The breaking stuff was falling the table.

When we get timely hitting we start to look like a team that could be ranked number one at the beginning of the season.

I sure hope this becomes the trend because the timing couldn’t be better

The way we're playing, any inning can be productive. That sure makes for fun watching - must be fun playing that way. Keep it up, Gators. We're hoping for the best. Get them down. Don't let 'em back in.

I'm very encouraged but play in the next two games will be more of an indicator.

Voles on the verge of a run rule win vs Bammer.

Well that makes 2 open baseball jobs in the SEC West. One in Texas A&M who is willing to pay whatever it takes to get who they want, as witnessed by the recent hirings in football and basketball. And in LSU you have arguably the SEC program with the longest history and one of the top fan bases who pack the Box

UF vs. UToothless, Sat. 1pm. No more Double Elim.

He gone.
Stricklin has already contacted MSU’s coach to gauge his interest. Foley used some back door connections to contact my neighborhood Little League coach. It’ll come down to which one they can lure away.

Getting Cowbell's coach to come to UF for football is one thing. Getting a Cowbell's coach to come to UF for baseball is a completely different animal. Cowbell draws excellent crowds for baseball games. UF has a difficult time drawing flies. Tim Walton played college baseball. My guess is they will just "white out" (can I say that? I just did) where it says 'Women's Softball' on Walton's contract and replace that with 'Men's Baseball'. All else will remain the same.

I'm good with giving Walton a shot. Andy Lopez was replaced by Pat McMahon in 2001. McMahon was Ron Polk's pick to succeed him at Miis St when he retired in 1997. McMahon's first season at UF was in 2002 and was fired in 2007 only 2 years after losing the College World Series final to Texas. But I agree ~ I don't think we get another MSU baseball coach this time around. McMahon had roots in Florida I don't think Lemonis does.

We just gave Sully a brand new over priced baseball stadium that will likely be called "Sully Field" one day if he stays. Him leaving would be a giant slap in the face and I would lose a lot of respect for him.

I don't expect Sully to leave but being offered LSU and/or TA&M has to make him turn his head.

Maybe he won't "Sully" his reputation.
I don’t know how anyone can ever judge another man for making as much as he can in his profession. If they’re willing to pay him significantly more and we’re not, then he should leave. Foolish not to.
