and a surprise HC in waiting is asst. coach Jon Scheyer. Played at Duke under coach K out of high school in north suburb of Chicago. Very surprising IMO as Scheyer has never been a head coach and also risky me thinks. With Brad Stevens bumping up to Celtics Prez as he said coaching had taken its toll, I have to think he would have been on the list. But based on what I read it appears that Duke has chosen to be just as incestuous as their neighbor down the road in UNC. Must be something in the water.

Boehiem will be next in two years when his kid graduates. That's a job I could easily see Donovan taking.

I understand the thesis, but I don;t see Billy taking the 'Cuse job. Here is my thought. 'Cuse is a very good job, but they are not a marquee name in the ACC. UNC, Duke, UVA and Maryland (back in the day) that was ACC. 'Cuse has no rivalries etc. in the ACC. They are just another middling team in a great conference. If Billy had not had success at UF I could see him at a 'Cuse. But if Billy ever came back to college ( I don't see it), his name and now that Stevens seems to have settled on front office NBA style Billy can look to the KU's, UK's, UCLA's even an Indiana or Zona. He can look marquee or marquee name brand from the past in their original conference.

The argument always is you don't want to be the one replacing the legend, but the one replacing the replacement. Perfect example from UF is Spurrier.

Wait three years and see if Hubert Davis or Scheyer are still the HC at Duke or UNC. That's when we could see a Donovan or Stevens end up at either place. Frankly neither of them are top tier coaches and both have never been a HC before, and yet, both are already light years ahead of Martha.

Both new coaches can be there for a long time IF the two schools dramatically lower their expectations like Florida has.

I doubt they will but then again I never thought UF would.

One of those stupid ass tropes, mostly spoken by sycophants of garbage ADs like hoorseteeth Fooley.

You think if Lil Nick or Creyer had followed SOS we would have sucked like Zookie did finishing 2nd in division and getting 3rd or 4th tier bowl games (much like we do now)?

Do Suckeyes suck after Creyer? Okie after Big Game Bob?

Do you think things will be set up for Coach K and Duke to get a Final 4 run and/or NC in his final season? Will the ACC and Refs make sure of it? Duke was TERRIBLE this past season with all their 5 star talent they had on their roster. They finished 13-11, 9-9 in the ACC and a 10th place finish and failed to make the NCAAT in a hugely surprising season for them. I think they will play better as a team but will certainly get some level of help and MAKE SURE its a grand final season for Coach K.

Stephen A screaming racism in 3...2....1!

No doubt. It occurred to me that his schtick will prevent him from ever being fired, barring possibly a 1st degree felony, even then it might be questionable.
