In no particular order...

Dan McDonnell - Louisville - been there since 2007, has the most wins in college baseball since then

Jim Schlossnagle - TCU - been there since 2004, approaching the 700 win mark for his career

Dan Heefner - Dallas Baptist - been there since 2008, over 500 career wins

Joe Urso - Tampa - a D2 legend, 800+ career wins, 5 nattys, been there over 20 years

Cliff Godwin - East Carolina - the youngster on the list, only there 7 years but at least aren't ****ting the bed hosting a regional

Add any names you believe merit consideration.....

Brad Wilkerson for sure. Stop the interviews right there!

As I said in the baseball thread, Wilkerson fits the bill for those who only care about someone who either: played here, coached here, took a shy in Gainesville or picked his nose on campus. The list of coaches posted above is legit. I also like the coach at Tinerc.

No. The other thread you came off as a tool.

Only commenting on what I hear (which 9 times out of 10 is correct).

I did not say it would surprise me. Being surprised by Fooley and his minions is common. I have no idea as Wilkerson might be the next great baseball coach. But given the coaches we hire around here my confidence level in Fooley and his idiots is ZERO. They can;t see guys who plainly suck there is no way they can pick the perfect piece of unripe fruit.

I have never, ever liked Sully as coach... he is a decent recruiter but, cannot manage games... His in-game coaching sucks...

Well I'd say it's a safe bet he's gone. I want to hire someone who knows how to coach and employ fundamentals and offense. Someone who can teach small ball, bunting, base running and stealing. Maybe I should just repeat when I say FUNDAMENTALS!!!

And for some reason, when I point these issues out like I have for years, I get attacked by Sully nutswingers on this board. Oh well, maybe after today’s embarrassment they finally see what you & I have seen for years, NV.

Why did we spend the extra $30 million on the baseball stadium again?

Would you say that Sully has had a virtually unsuccessful run here at UF? Some of you said the wins don't tell the whole story and that fundamentals are all that matters. Do the championships that Sully has won at UF even matter? Before Sully UF had only been to the CWS 5 times. Sully has gotten there 7 times in his 14 years at UF with #8 was looming in the cancelled 2020 season. The Gators made the CWS 5 times in 94 years. Sully 7 times in 14 years, WOW. Sully won that finally very ELUSIVE NC at UF but should probably have at least 1 or 2 more. Same could be said about Billy D, SOS, and Urban NO DOUBT. The stars don't always align, just ask UGA. Sully has won 5 SEC regular season titles and 2 SECT titles. Gators only had 10 and 5 before Sully so he has added nicely to that list. Sully has 585 wins at UF in 14 years. Dave Fuller is 2nd on the all time wins list with 556 but took him 28 YEARS to do it, WOW. What Sully has done at UF has been remarkable for a program that has only had very small and limited pockets of success kinda like when Billy D took over the UF basketball program. I know all the dumpers are going to chime in with dislikes and childish name calling and say I am slurping Sully in true dumper fashion cause that is what typically takes place sophomorically when they have their mind set that they hate a UF coach. The fact remains is that it doesn't matter who the coach is, fans will ALWAYS be unhappy with whoever the coach is in all our sports. Its just the way it works. Love the new coach list, all great candidates but once things get tough we will turn on them too, we ALWAYS do. Heck in 2017, the Gators went through a swoon halfway through the SEC schedule and all the boo birds came out and called for Sully to be fired. Gators WON the NC that year and it was F ing GLORIOUS. Go Gators!! In all Kinds of Weather. Won't back down, swaying in the stands.

I was very disappointed in this entire season. The downfall was driven by a lack of quality and depth of pitching. We played the entire year with only two reliable starters and three (really two) in the pen. Aleman was terrible and at times Scott was too. This was not a typical season of needing to find more innings for all the arms it was just the opposite. Offensively it was feast of famine with it more common for the team to have plus 10 SO's than plus 10 hits in any given game. The reality is that baseball has changed at all levels and the 3 run homer is the dominant strategy coupled with a pitching staff all heating up in the mid- nineties. Power in, power out. Sully is clearly a victim to this thinking.

Maybe it is time for Sully to move on as it was for Billy D., Meyer and SOS. When expectations exceed any rational thought process and it's win the NC or you are a pariah and a stain on the university then do yourself and the "fans" a favor and take the millions offered by the opposition and start fresh. Good luck to the poor bastard who follows Sully's awful resume of only making the CWS every other season over 14 years.
