If he's not a homosexual, he's certainly well-qualified to be one. The way he sashays up and down the sideline is cringe-inducing. There's nothing like a limp-wristed fat guy with a 'purty mouth' to get you excited about football, huh? I can't believe ox was fawning all over that pillow-biter.
Still am. I’d take him over Mullen right now.

I get that you still like him. That’s fine. But please tell me you’ve finally stopped pushing the notion that the only reason he didn’t sign with us that night we flew up was because we forgot to bring a pen.

That one was one of your worst.

I've been seeing comments from players such as Takeo Spikes and other talking about how Meyer may "lose the confidence of the team" if his signing of Tebow is seen as rank nepotism towards a player who they don't think belongs in the league.

I don't suppose there's any chance, is there, that Corch Meyers is playing some kind of reverse-psychology long-game to earn the team's confidence by, on the one hand, showing his loyalty to a valued former player by giving him a shot, but then on the other hand, ultimately showing his greater loyalty to his current team by choosing a younger player and cutting Tebow in the end?

It would be quite ironic if UM is casting Tebow in the role of the beloved "son" he sacrifices to show his love for the others.

Again...I think it's the N.O. Hill Swiss Army Knife role.

The big thing going for Tebow now is that he's not playing into the media. In Denver he wouldn't turn from an interview. this go around, he doesn't seem to be as much of an attention whore, and that's why he probably will be able to stay.

It's interesting how things we see in the media are orchestrated. I'm always looking for the long-game play.

Like, there were several stories published last week mentioning a "common complaint" about Tebow from former NFL HC's. The supposed complaint was that although he didn't actively stir up the "Tebowmania" media circus that followed him everywhere, he never avoided it or did anything to tamp it down, either.

Example: There’s Been 1 ‘Common Complaint’ With Tim Tebow

For all we know the impetus for that story came from the Jags themselves or from someone friendly to Tebow, not hostile to him like you would think. With the idea being, by "not playing into the media" this time around -- as you noticed Tebow hasn't been doing -- he seems to be demonstrating personal growth by taking those old criticisms to heart. So then we get a follow-up article saying just that, right? Ergo an apparently negative story ends up resulting in something positive to be said about him.

I agree but I think it’s the other way around. It’s the media that’s less interested this time around. The expectations surrounding him are a lot lower.

Media sees Trump and Tebow about the same. Now neither are giving the media what they want.

No, there's no lack of media interest. Do a Google or Bing News search for Tebow Jaguars and you will see there is a lot being written, but not a lot being said. Because they're getting no access and Tebow's giving them nothing.

What? In 2010, there may have been more hype, but at least it was somewhat positive speculation. The media this go around has been nothing short of brutal throughout this whole thing. Every talking head under the sun has had some comment about his recent pursuit, and it’s almost all been negative, with everything from mockery to criticism of his “privilege”. I’m not a rah rah Tebow fan, preferring more the DW style personally. I think he created some of his own circus, or at a minimum kept some of it going. But he’s matured and I give him credit for his approach here. It’s absolutely eating up his critics too.

Tebow was a great college quarterback. He wasn't a good NFL quarterback and he isn't a tight end. This is about ticket and jersey sales and Urban's personal loyalty, and has exactly nothing to do with football. Every single third-string tight end on every other team in the league is so much better than Tebow, just from having played the position for years. Frankly, the whole thing is a combination of a bad joke and playing the rubes who are fool enough to believe it and buy even more Tebow merchandise.

Yeah lord forbid a business make a smart business move in an attempt to make more money.

How the hell do you know how good Tebow is at TE? He's a 6'3'' 250 lb freak athlete who's most likely already the strongest man on the team. If he were gay, black or didn't wear his faith on his sleeve he'd be lauded a hero for attempting to play a new position in the NFL at his age.
