He is a scumbag but he is Ox's scumbag.

I can just imagine Urban out there screaming at those pussy receivers and DBs about hitting and blocking harder and them immediately calling their agents and union. This is going to be a rough transition.

"and putting 13 players in the hospital with rhabdomyolysis."

BULLSHYTTT. Unless he was putting those guys in those plastic shiny silver weight loss suits and refusing to give them water, they put themselves in rhabdo. Probably by too much purple drank yesterday and not enough water today.

That's our boy. And I'll irrationally defend him until he gets esophageal spasms, quits, or loses too many games. ;)

Is anyone really surprised? That's Urbs being Urbs!
It's not whether you win or lose, it's how well you
can cheat to win & get away with it. Aaron is smiling down!

Winners win. Funny how everyone throws out college coaches failing in the NFL, but never mentions the circumstances they were under. In MOST cases the coach is going to a horrible team. Hence, the job opening. Most of the “failed” college-NFL coaches hovered around .500. Which isn’t that bad actually. But the real issue they had was the same as every other poor team. They couldn’t find QBs. If you happen to fall into a position where you inherit a QB, or in Meyer’s case draft a QB you have a chance to be successful. I think Meyer will be very successful with the Jags. It’s early. Meyer is a very hard coach. And I know the players hate him now. But they’ll respect him once they see the results. He’s maniacal about preparation. Coaches like that fail because of circumstances. It won’t be from a lack of preparation. Big picture, that should give you a lot of confidence in him. The circumstances seem to be getting manipulated correctly around him. I’m optimistic. I laid on them a while back when I saw their odds to win the Super Bowl at +10000. It’s gone down a bit now but I still like the odds now. I don’t actually think they’ll win it. But it’s definitely not a dead bet. And I expect them to be a playoff team year 1. Meyer will own the AFC South.

Urban got butt slammed.

not really following the nfl much but I live in St. John’s so I check on the jags.

defense could not stand up to a stiff breeze and gave them no chance to stay close. Secondary looks worse than UF’s.

Lawrence is trying to play fast. Maybe a little too fast. Threw for a ton of yards because they abandoned the run and he ended with 3 TDs and 3 INTs on 51 attempts(!). Receivers dropped a ton of not perfect but catchable balls early that let the Texans take over and pull away.

If he can settle and slow it down a bit he can be a good nfl qb. Not sure Jax will ever be able to build around him though. Very few real difference makers, if any.

I met urbs in Jax a couple months ago. Looks like he aged ten years today.

One thing that really shocked me was how inaccurate Lawrence was throughout the game. One of the picks he threw wasn't even in the right ball park. But you're right, the defense is pathetic, and they don't really have any dynamic playmakers on either side of the ball. I think it'll take at least a few drafts to get the team where it needs to be, if Urban can hang on that long.
