Yeah, that was great. It helped make up for "The Choke at Doak" when Steve
and his crew squandered what seemed to be an insurmountable lead late into the game.
before 3rd and Grantham there was:

Nice quote here from Bowden on the ESPN site: ""I've always tried to serve God's purpose for my life, on and off the field, and I am prepared for what is to come," said Bowden, who once wrote to a presiding judge to ask for dismissal of a case involving a former player who brutally raped and beat an FSU alumni after breaking into her home. "My wife Ann and our family have been life's greatest blessing. I am at peace." Bowden left the head coaching spot at FSU after a massive academic fraud scandal caused the school to go on probation and for Bowden to be stripped of 12 wins.

Blobby learned how to cheat from the Master…Bear Bryant. As long as he wasn’t directly involved and didn’t really see it happening himself it was anything goes.

Guess we’ll finally find out if he’s really going to put “But he had to play Miami” on his tombstone.

Bobby finished with a 17-18-1 record against UF.

Ok. Here you go. Now lighten up Francis.

I know this is ridiculous, and I'm probably just being a nervous nelly. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't at least slightly concerned that this thread could take an unintended turn, in a direction far removed from its original premise.

It’s possible that he has been diagnosed with terminal hypocrisy.

I think “aging” is about as terminal of a condition as you can get right? Every day after 80 is pretty much playing with house money. Still though prayer for his family and that it is a peaceful transition for him
He's lived longer than most, but the most common age of death in this country is 88 years old. People don't die of old age at 80 usually. The only reason the average life expectancy is that low is because they average in all the people who die at much younger ages due to accidents, diseases, murders and such.

Lookit if you haven’t accomplished all you’re gonna do by the time you’re an octogenarian, I’m not sure how that extra 8 years tacked on the end there is gonna help, unless a group of your handlers drags your damn near senile a$$ all the way to the Presidency

I married the daughter of a physician in tally; he was one of the semi's team doctors. bobby would kid my wife's dad about how he raised his daughter for marrying a Gator.

He had a sense of humor, but I know he (along with johnny majors) was one of the coaches who tried to lower the boom with the death penalty on the Gator program in 1984. I always felt he had to go to church for the way he carried on in football.

I do feel for his family as I would for any family whose patriarch was diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer, but I was never a fan.

But it wasn't cheating when Bear Bryant did those things. They BECAME cheating because the NCAZI changed the rules to try and throttle the Bear... but yeah, after that maybe Bowden did cheat using the same things Bear had done... ;)

Watch for those 12 wins to be restored once Bobby has left the world stage, just as old JoPa's wins were, a man upon who's watch we witnessed one of the most disgusting events ever to disgrace the world of college football.

NCAA to JoPa: "It's okay, Joe. We know that you did enough when you just turned a blind eye
to that coach's perversions and later simply let him become some other team's problem. You had no responsibility to any of his future victims."

NCAA to Bobby: "Bowden, you should be ashamed of yourself to allowing those
players to cheat on those online "Tiddlywinks 101" and "Intro to Basket Weaving" classes. Why, that's the worse thing we have ever heard of! You're lucky we didn't give you the Death Penalty!!"
