https://www.recovery.org/ritalin/withdrawal/

says inability to feel pleasure as a withdrawal symptom. Also compares Ritalin abuse to taking cocaine, in how it feels. So is she a quitter? Quasi crackhead? or both? Just praying she gets the help she needs, although the left reject prayer

Interesting you posted this at nearly the same time as what I’m posting now, something that struck me over the past few days.

The issue of her meds has been brought up in this thread and in the media. Is it possible that the Ritalin was a major factor in her dominance of the sport? Stated another way, Ritalin helps with anxiety, which could also be construed as helping reduce fear. So was she able to do all of the high risk moves she did because she was on a drug that eliminated her fear, while her opponents didn’t have this chemical edge? In essence, was she “doping” all this time, and now, when she couldn’t bring her drugs into Japan due to Japanese laws, she was exposed? Just a thought.

My first thought when they said she couldn't take her ritalin was that it was a stimulant and should be viewed as performance enhancement. But she's the GOAT.....

I’ve heard the media pundits on CNN, NBC, Vox, etc. saying this very thing when I turned on the TV this morning. They are calling Simone out big time.

Nah, just kidding.

The ADHD meds though illegal in Japan, the athletes that use them for the Olympics were given a waiver to use them in the country.

Simone Biles likely isn't going to flat out admit that she's choking under the pressure of high expectations, repeating as Olympic champion, and fulfilling her title as the GOAT. And since she's America's darling and beloved by the media, the media isn't going to admit that they're the ones who put all this pressure onto her that she couldn't handle.

But if you watched the Olympic qualifier, then you could see in her eyes and in her below average performance (for her) that the pressure was getting to her. None of this should have been a surprise to anyone who watched her in the last couple of months.

The original article I read a few days ago said it wasn’t allowed. New article now says the exemption mostly likely applied to Adderall but not Ritalin and then said she probably could have brought the Ritalin, so a little confusing to say the least.

Maybe she didn’t apply for a waiver when she heard it was illegal in Japan. Or maybe the waiver, which only allowed a certain amount of Ritalin, didn’t allow her to take an amount she was used to taking. Who knows?

What I do know is she originally said she was having a mental health issue(s) and she never mentioned twisties…until several days later.

She quit…..on herself & her team. Somebody sat at home who otherwise would’ve represented the US in the Olympics. She’s a poster child for the “it’s too hard” generation.

Its contagious! Jade Carey balks on her run for her first vault, causing her to finish last in the competition. Skinner however at least pulls out Silver for the US.

So it's the black girls fault that the white girl choked? Racist

Real question though, is the Carey going to quit on the team now?

Definitely the black girl's fault. Got in her head. And now Carey is not expected to medal on anything else, so, I guess you can say she blew the whole team up.
