Without knowing the play and having the game tape it is difficult to evaluate any player. I am sure Tim wanted to do better no matter what he actually did.

I really don't want him to make the team since that will mean no seeing him on the SEC channel and less time for his charity and family activities that I think should be his focus at this time of his life. Of course I support whatever he desires.

You gotta admit, effective or not, that was a terrible block. It looked like someone avoiding contact.

Which is why his more natural position for transition should have been H-back. More movement and away from the line. He was never going to be an inline blocker.

Tebow tried to bench press the dude. You block with your thighs and ass. He will figure it out.

Did anyone see the second block? It was on the very next play. It almost looks like his heart isn’t in it.
I dont agree. He was pushing hard, maybe afraid of a push in the back, but he was basically trying to bench press. That just won't work.

DL slanted hard to the playside (right), Tebow comes back across to clip the DE, but the DE is crashing that way looking to make the play. Tebow effectively goes low on him and seals him and lets the RB jump cut to the backside. I think the play winds up getting 6 yards.

No one has mentioned #70 and #77 getting blown up by the two DL forcing the cutback. Lets just make fun of Tebow looking awkward trying to cut a DE and keeping him inside while getting 6 yards for the RB on a play that most likely gets stuffed in the backfield if not for a heck of a run.

He was where he was supposed to be and at least he carried out his assignment. It wasn't pretty but he sealed him effectively.

What I'm shocked for a guy who is going to be a bottom of the roster guy, he took no special teams snaps. He needs to be more versatile or he is a waste of a roster spot. He is at least a year or more away from being a functional tight end. He doesn't know how to functionally block, which is just the nature of the beast. He has never played the position, and now trying to learn a position a lot of the guys have been playing for at least 7 years.

Like Doug78 just illuded to...Tebow's value is versatility and as a multible threat...not his lack of blocking skills.

Goal Line, Short Yardage, Wildcat, Reciver, QB...when you must get that score or 1st down.

Sadly MSM does not want what Tim is selling.

Even on here...I get so much negativity from a few scriptures...What chance does Tebow have?

Geoff Schwartz Reacts to New Video of Tim Tebow: '34 Yr Old Who’s Never Had to Block'

Tim Tebow is a 34-year-old who hasn't played a regular-season professional football game in nine years attempting to make the transition to a position he's never played against NFL competition.

To the surprise of almost no one, said transition has gone terribly bad. Tebow made his Jaguars preseason debut Saturday and has spent the last two days going viral over laughably bad block attempts.

Former NFL offensive lineman Geoff Schwartz did not seem particularly surprised by Tebow's struggles or the criticism.

While we are at it, lets discuss the fact this is the first contact the NFL players have had this year. The announcers were discussing that they don't hit full contact in practice and this game was the first any have had.

Lets also not forget the entire left side of the OL was blown up on the play and Tebow getting enough of the slanting DE allowed a 6 yard run by the RB.

I swear, this is worse than discussing football with a bunch of amateurs.
